Ebonyi State University lectures has today resolved to embark on a warning strike.

Following the over 6hours long lasting meeting held at the University ASUU secretariat at CAS campus, the university lecturers are set to embark on a warning strike to drive home their grievances over the exorbitant taxation on them by the State government.

Ebonyi State government has on September slashed down the salary of the State University's lecturers following the review of State's tax module.

We gathered from a reliable source that Ebonyi State taxation system reviewed their module and
resolved to tax;
For senior professors: Over N90,000
For junoir professors: Over N70,000
For Lecturer 1: N38,000
For Lecturer 2: N20,000
Non Academic Staff: N18,000

The chairman EBSU-ASUU, Mr. Idenyi, had a closed meeting today with his members in the
ASUU secretariat, EBSU chapter.

It was expected that university should resume on Monday,17th Oct., 2016 for 2016/2017 academic session but because of this lingering news at the moment, the students are precarious of the said resumption.
