ijustdey:how old are you Buhari were to blame for the failed metro-rail project, which Alhaji Lateef Jakande initiated to solve the traffic problem in the metropolis in 1983.it was buhari who ordered the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) not to release N70 million mobilisation fund for the metro line project. Buhari Deliberately Killed Lagos – Calabar Rail Project. He Did Same With Lagos Metro, Buhari omitting the Coastal Rail line project from Lagos to Calabar in the 2016 budget was NEVER an omission, but a deliberate act to punish the region that he hates to a fault.... ur Messiah buhari stopped this project 32years ago... indomie generation 1 Like 2 Shares |
In as much as we are developing gradually, we must also build that maintenance culture mentality too. That is the major problem associated with infastructural development in Nigeria. That is d true one there ,one of our biggest problem in this country is poor maintenance we keep yearning for developments but the already constructed ones are getting dilapidated under our very watchful eyes . 1 Like |

seguno2: 1. The story is not false. GEJ even stalled giving the guarantee on the world bank loan at a stage in this current project during the Fashola regime. But I trust as a GEJ blind desciple, google is not your friend http://www.nigerianeye.com/2012/11/federal-govt-stopped-world-bank-from.html 2. For someone to see GEJ as a venerable saint opens up another dimension of corruption. Is yours a spiritual side? 6 Likes |

I think we are getting the awareness on need for maintenance and will get that right too. We did not understand that there is money to be made in maintenance before now. A lot of businesses are created in the maintenance value-chain 2 Likes |

Raydos:You need to travel around Nigeria a bit more. There are many parts of the country witnessing genuine infrastructural development. A few years ago, places like Uyo, Enugu, Calabar, Akure, Awka, Ilorin, Asaba, Minna, Warri and co were neglected backwaters with very little on ground. Today the story is very different in those places. |

Some state governments have just decided to carry their states to the next level no matter what. This is the way to go. Others need to follow for the sake of our citizens. The most effective projects are those that will impact on the lives of all citizens and the common man. Electricity, Roads, Transportation, Security and emergency services, Public Schools and possible free education at primary and secondary school level, Primary health care. projects like airports, 5 star hotels and government specialist hospitals will only provide some employment for people if well structured. 1 Like |

aresssa: To add to your post, hence the clamor for national restructuring. Nigeria, as presently administered is like a motorcade. In a motorcade every car must move at the designated speed irrespective of the amount of horsepower under the hood! The center(i.e the FG) is overburdened and the states are increasingly heavily dependent on it. I align with the position that the 6 geo-political zones should form the basis for the restructuring Nigeria politically for more efficient governance. Let the regions develop at their own pace by harnessing the natural and human resource that is available to it, as should be the case in a proper federal system. This quasi-unitary political system will not take us to the promised land even in another 100 years. 3 Likes 1 Share |
