Many Facebook users can expect to see more graphic
content appear on their news feed over the next few
months. While the social network is about to
potentially allowing images of violence and nudity,
would consider them if they are significant or
important for the public to use.
In a blog post by two of the company's VPS - Joel
Kaplan Justin Osofsky - Facebook announced it intends
to allow more newsworthy images and stories that
would break the terms of service, but "without posing
safety risks or showing graphic images to minors and
others who do not want to see them. "the company
will achieve this by working with the community and
partners.
The move comes after Facebook endured a barrage of
criticism last month to remove the iconic "Napalm
Girl" photo. The Norwegian author include the image in
a post called "seven photographs that changed the
history of war," which resulted in Facebook remove the
post and stop Tom Egeland's account.
Aftenposten, Norway's largest newspaper, published a
story of what happened and the famous photo on my
FB page. Facebook want to remove, or pixelized, but
the site to delete the image and story Aftenposten can
answer.
In recent weeks, Facebook has come under fire again,
this time to remove a post about breast cancer from
the French newspaper Le Monde because it featured a
photo woman having a mammogram. Her breast was
exposed in the image.
Mark Zuckerberg's group apologized for the error but
removing yet another breast cancer awareness post,
this time in the video, like last week. Facebook
announced the Swedish Cancer Society: "Your ad can
not sexual market products or services or great
products or services." The group evaded anti-nudity
policy and turned round, living breasts in video
squares.
Facebook can leave more "potentially offensive"
content on the site, but Donald trump posts still
causing controversy. The Wall Street Journal claims a
company employee want some of the Republican
candidate's posts removed because they violated the
site's Terms and Conditions relating to hate speech. It
was reported that Mark Zuckerberg - fresh from
defending Peter Thiel right to support trump - that he
decided not to remove messages.
