Federal government controls all seaports and international airports in Nigeria. Yet they do not force any Nigeria or non-Nigerian to use any one of them in preference to the others. Two airlines recently cancelled their direct flight to Kano airport, because the route was not making profit again! It is business that decide which port or airport will be used by the business men. i have imported a car through Port harcourt from belgium before, but I will never try it again. It is simply more difficult. The shipping companies prefer Lagos and the Federal government can not force them to berth at any other ports. Lagos simply have the competitive advantage to other Seaports and airports one way or the other. To get any seaport in the east or SS to compete with Lagos, Ibos and Ndeltans have to start massive patronage of their own Seaports and airports. Haven said that, the contribution of the seaports and the airports are actually over rated, lagos is actually getting bulk of its revenue from commercial and business activities. It is the commercial hub of Africa!. All who is who companies have their headquarters in Lagos or at least must have an appreciable presence in there. Clinton9000: 8 Likes 2 Shares |

Clinton9000: Will the attempt by them to reverse this situation not forcefully brought up restructuring to national discourse? See how Fayose has triggered the issue of the Fulani herdsmen into a national discussion...Let Buhari boldly come out and tell Nigerians that the herdsmen have every right to cause havoc, which he will not do. PMB gave out lopsided appointments not caring how other parts of Nigeria felt, GEJ should have been bold enough and we would have seen if Nigeria would have burn! Will the North have threaten to secede from the South?...........They can never dare that! 1 Like |

Laid2001: The reason why I asked that is to assess your knowledge on the control of our ports. This revelation will shock you...Atiku Abubakar controls Port Harcourt seaport while Aliko Dangote controls Onne and Calabar ports...this is part of the systematic marginalization I'm talking about. The Federal government you are right owns all seaports but their operations were privatized by NPA under Obasanjo, allowing these men to control SS ports by design for marginalization purposes. |

Clinton9000: You can get your point across without being so hate-filled and abusive. I want to ask a question and I hope you are mature enough to answer me without insulting me. So, you said- "so you think all of a sudden Port Harcourt, Calabar, Onne, Warri and Onitsha ports just stopped working, and Lagos started working? You didn't think the federal government planned it to keep SS and SE down?" If this is what you fill, please, the president that ruled Nigeria between 2010-2015, where was he from? Wasn't he from South-South? He ruled for 5 solid years. If your assertions are true, why didn't he do anything about it? 6 Likes 1 Share |

Clinton9000: Don't be blinded with hate...... The seeds of disunity was planted by the colonial masters to curb us..... A time bomb that will explode... leaving us consumed with hate, backwardness and a third world nation syndrome.... Fate has brought us together and interwind our destinies as a Nation. And the moment we realize we need to heal from our tribal wounds the better for us. What makes USA the greatest Nation on the face of the earth? It's the people... There's no country as diverse in ethnicity than the USA.... but they realize that being United Strengthens them. Dont be like our fore fathers and fathers that were clouded with hate and tribal bigotry. It will only take us round in circles.... Look at Lagos... The most Liberal state in Nigeria. Every tribe contributes it's growth and development..... Please I beg you... dont make the mistakes our fathers made.... Stop this your tribal hate and learn to heal.... There's so much we can gain united than being disunited. 6 Likes 1 Share |

Clinton9000: I see how you leave out the whole North from your clamor, speaks volume of someone who wants true federalism. Anyways... There is a reason each state has a legislator in the house of reps, what are your legislators doing there? It was aired on the news that lagos legislators are soliciting for better allocation to further drive lagos through development, even tho they were rebuffed, effort was still made. What are your legislators doing in Aso Rock other than saying "NAY" to Lagos |

riddler4real: Shattap there afonja hypocrite and lack of conscience for others coming here to preach about America greatest. Ill educate you...What makes USA great is that Texas seaports are not the only functional ports in America. Other states seaports are opened and functioning to full capacity.Florida, California, New Jersey, Louisiana, Georgia, North Carolina, Maine, Oregon, Washington, Michigan, New York, Delaware...all have seaports that are functioning at 100%. So why is only Lagos functioning in Nigeria? Is it fair? Don't you have conscience that other states Cross River, Rivers, Delta, Anambra ports should be allowed to function like Lagos just like in USA where all states with ports have their ports functioning? Hypocrites! |

modsRbastard: Let me see if I can have a conversation with you. Are you aware that Northerners have more legislators in comparative numbers than the South? Meaning nothing can ever pass without 1/3 of the Northern lagislators supporting it which is impoosible to achieve in our divided country. So how in the hell will a SW or SE bill or legislation ever pass with this fundamental marginalization of the South that even yorubas are totally oblivious of if not you won't be shouting about our lagislators. |
