Expediate Action On Badeh’s Case – Nigerians Are Watching by augustine77: 3:52pm On Nov 11, 2016
The Network of Internally Displaced Persons (NIDP) has been monitoring and following the trial of former Chief of Defence Staff, Air Marshal Sabundu Badeh under the trial judge, Justice Okon Abang. The network is not happy that up till now the trial seems to be too lengthy and as such no meaningful development whatsoever has been achieved because the current fate of our association was caused by the behavior and nonchalant attitude including the usage of outdated weapons against Boko Haram insurgents and the numerous hardships faced by the association are as a result of Air Marshal Badeh’s love for self rather than the nation including the scourge of human lives lost fighting insurgents. The Network of the Internally Displaced Persons (NIDP) are compelled to issue the following statements:
1. That Air Marshal Badeh should be re-arrested forthwith, his freedom denied so that he will not compromise the outcome of the trial and that the security agencies should be on him 24 hours surveillance so as to serve as deterrant to other senior officers in the future and send a signal of its seriousness with the trial.
2. Justice delayed is justice denied. We crave the indulgence of the learned judge to fast track the trial so as to pronounce judgment so that Air Marshal Badeh will pay for the soldiers that have lost their lives and the hardship of the people currently living. As we can no longer enjoy the privileges of being alive because our joy and happiness have been cut short including all forms of human habitation from us since the war started.
3. That the anti-graft agencies should go after his families and any other bank account outside the nation and freeze all his ill-gotten wealth so that he will feel the pains and hardship we are currently facing.
4. We have it on good authority that most of his properties are still at large and that forensic investigation should be carried out to know the where about of others so government can seize them accordingly.
5. The Network of the Internally Displaced Persons passes a vote of confidence on Buhari’s led administration and his anti-corruption war but warns that the anti-graft agencies should go all out to make sure that every kobo stolen from the nation’s coffers are retrieved by any means necessary. We implore that EFCC should spread its nets across the length and breadth of Nigeria so as to arrest those people assisting Badeh to invade prosecution and hiding of his properties embezzled under dubious means.
6. That Badeh’s case should be treated henceforth with all the seriousness it deserves so as to send a message to the Nigerian public. That people who are given position of authority to serve the nation but do otherwise should be considered enemies of the nation and their freedom denied including making sure that such cases are quickly dispensed with to avoid wasting of tax payers resources.
7. The Network of the Internally Displaced Persons is also passing a strong word to Justice Okon Abang, that Nigerians and indeed the international community are watching and it behoves on him to act swiftly as to further his career by making sure that Badeh’s case is seriously dealt with and taken as a high profile case that will make or mar the judiciary vis-à-vis the lives of lost ones and those that are living. Of particular concern, he should treat the case with all its seriousness and give judgment as soon as possible.
8. The NIDP passes a vote of confidence on Magu led administration of EFCC and call on all Nigerians to join hands with the National Assembly to confirm this hardworking and tireless Nigerian, who has given his life to the fight against graft and to reclaim our destiny from the hands of these corrupt persons.

Farouk Ibn Nallah
National Cordinator (NIDP)
