Niyi sat in the car, his hands firmly gripping the steering wheel as he kept contemplating if he should go in or not. He knew he had to make sure but there was a part of him that didn’t wanna care.

It had been two days now since Tara had left the house. The first day he had thought nothing of it, wouldn’t be the first time she had run off but she always found her way back. By night fall of the second day, he had begun to get worried.

No phone call to ask for an apology, no subtle hint of where she was. How dare she do this to him? Didn’t she know how much he hated worrying over unnecessary issues? She had said nothing or gave any hint of what he had done wrong, they had just had one of the best sex in years and the next morning she had disappeared.

After the two days, he couldn’t take it anymore, so here he was. Parked right outside her mum’s house wanting to find out if she was here. Of course she was here, where else would she have gone to? He had cut off all those silly friends of hers years ago. He was her world, she had to know that. No one else mattered, so it only made logical sense that she would come right here to her mum’s. He so much wanted to go in there and let his anger flow but he knew he had to keep calm. Her mother had never liked him even after all the money and gifts he showered on her. Never known the reason why but she was always cold around him with some occasional forced smiles.

And that was why he wasn’t so sure right now if he should just go knock on her door and ask to see Tara. He had been seated in this position for over an hour now and it was getting frustrating.
