MrAnalyst:
It's simple. The army surprised the militants, killed a few but some escaped. The numbers they killed wasn't enough to seem "impressive" so they killed the man and dressed him up as a militant to add to the numbers. Incredible!
i think that they're plain kidnappers not militants, there's nothing to show those guys have ever seen a dynamite before.

Even zoos are better organized than this country. In a zoo, you can't just walk up in it and start killing animals unlike we have in Nigeria where the same people that swore to protect its citizens are the ones exterminating them.

By the way, has Premium Times decided to go the other way after their Oga was humiliated by the Aso Rock demon? If it were before, they'd not have reported this news.

Something tells me that the military re saying the truth though they didn't properly report the incident. The kidnappers could ve killed the man thinking his people were responsible for the presence of the military in their camp. However I disagreed with the act of regarding the victim as a top militant. They ve to apologise to the family and accept responsibility for whatever the family will ask as compensation. Without their presence that man would ve been alife today. May his soul rest in peace

This is what they usually do to impress the afonja/zombie that cheer them when they lie to them that avengers ve been killed and the afonjASS would scream sai baba.

In-born, generational Hatred is not allowing most of you to use your brains, if you have one, anymore!

This is a sad report and our heart goes out to the family of the Pastor. he should never have died this way.

Having said that, in any normal society, "normal people" will be more concerned about WHY and WHAT led to the Pastor being in that situation in the first place.

If he was not kidnapped by criminal elements, he sure wont be in the line of fire, when the military tried to rout out the Kidnappers.

*Sensible Citizens would be worried about how and where these Criminals got all the weapons they use in terrorising the citizens and engaging the Army
*Sensible citizens would be concerned that Kidnapping has become the first employer of Yoots in the country, especially from the Eastern parts of the country!

*Sensible people will come together to tackle those Politicians like Jonathan and Wike and their PDP criminals who buy weapons for the same Yoots, to foster election violence, same weapons that is now diverted to kidnapping when election is over.

*Sensible citizens would know that at times, rescue operation get botched but will still appreciate the effort of the Govt to rescue the victims.

*Sensible citizens would examine the narrative and be objective enough to know that the Army did not deliberately kill this man and from their explanation, it is the Kidnappers that have the motive, as in most rescue operation, to kill the victim first, before any rescue canbe successful.

The Army may have made the mistake of publishing his picture alongside that of the Kidnappers (just to increase count numbers, which l find very reprehensible and should be condemned) but to say the Army killed him is silly.

*I agree that the Govt should compensate the family as a form of assistance to the Children and for labelling him wrongly but to accuse the Govt of killing him is absurd.

*Sensible people will be more interested in providing information to the Security forces, to rid their environments of Kidnappers instead of attacking the Security forces on the pages of news outlets.

It is noteworthy to observe that even the Yoots of the Society who were asked to escort the family into the bush, demanded for as much as #750,000! That is how conscienceless our these maggots have become. No single drop of "humanity or human service" in them, its all about MONEY.

You are all abusing the military now but the day Herdsmen come to rampage your community, it is the same military you will be crying to, for help! You wont use that your running-mouth to save yourself, showing how hatred and bigotry has made you people senseless.

RIP to the Pastor and may his family find succour in the almighty.

This reporting army officer is correct. Its obvious that the kidnappers shot him. The practice is this, when kidnappers noticed that a victim family is trailing them with security, their first assort is on the victim.
In this case, the kidnappers shot him but the over zealous soldiers tried to justify their gravity instead of taking the victim to the nearest medical base and enough identification publicity carried out in line with military operations.
Its unfortunate it happens but the family just have to understand that their brother was not certainly killed by soldiers.

That den of kidnappers is known by all the security organisation yet nothing has been done, as I write this someone maybe kidnapped today and will still be taken there. What a country that a hard working dude can't freely enjoy himself without fear. Rivers state especially is something else.

His Blood is crying for vengeance! No wonder Boko Haram is decimating them now! Though i am against Terrorism and Militancy, I didn't feel an iota of pity when i heard about the demise of those top military officials killed by Boko Haram. It is one thing to kill him which might be an error but labelling him a militant afterwards is the height of wickedness!

For those here abusing premium times and taking side with buhari soldiers. Remb the man was tied and blind folded, and if he was shot by the militants upon sighting the military wouldn't the military in their common sense know that he must have been a victim of abduction in stead of labelling him a Chief militant?

And who removed the hood they used in blinding him and took pictures to the press?

And how did the army know he's the militants kingpin?

If u can't answer those important question keep ur smelly mouths shot and stop defending the dullard desperately using his armies for cheap glory.

This is a smart comment. They knew he was probably kidnapped, the soldier said they saw them talking to him and he was blind folded, so after the fire fight, instead of picking up the body or rescuing the injured man, they took his pictures and labelled him a militant. I honestly don't believe the military. They are a bunch of lied fiends

This is sadden situation in which if investors read such , it will be difficult to establish their investments in such area.

But from what I read the kidnapped victim might have been killed by the militants also judging from the way they saw decomposed bodies everywhere. So premium times is being sentimental in their headlines and based on what was reported, IMHO, it seemed there were exchange of gun fires and after the thing settled, they found some corpses. And since no body really know who is who, they paraded all the corpses as militants. Having said that,
The rates at which many atrocious killings and crimes are being done in this country is alarming. From armed forces killing her citizens and citizens killing each other for money is alarming. No value for human lives in this country.
See how just the rates of kidnapping from the story has rendered many family fatherless and many jobs lost and many companies folded up.
Nigeria is truly difficult and terrible country to live and do business . story like this is saddening.

Go and read the story again. What started this story was that the army public relation officer in his press statement on the raid said they killed the man and posted his picture as one of the militants dey killed. That was when the family saw the picture in the news. It was the army press statement that exposed them. How come they agreed the man was tied like a prisoner by the militants yet dey posted his picture as one of the militants killed by them(army)

These people are liars (the army). The
Fact that the dead body was tied and blindfolded would have made them know he was a kidnap victim, but the went ahead to label him a militant. Goes to show that they just went there and killed everything moving. Bastards!

All I see is an invalid claim from premium times. I'm not taking sides with any party but premium times in their argument failed to reference any article where the army labeled the man a militant, they gave no pictures, all I see are words. Claims based on words are not strong enough.
