While some artistes have been able to churn out hits after hits, others have courted fame with just one hit and faded to oblivion. And although they might have released singles after their hits, it just wasn’t going to pull through and over shadow their one time banger. Everything from hip-hop, to Galala, hits by TY Bello, Olu Maintain, Konga and pop classics by Djinee and Jodi. We will go true them and see the ones we have missed. Enjoy! 1 Like 1 Share |

1.Bigiano - Shayo Master Bigiano made his debut as a solo artiste in 2009 with the release of his monster hit, ‘Shayo’ before shayoing away. The singer in an interview explained the reason behind his absence saying he deliberately took a break in a bid to repackage his brand and be able to offer much more to his fans. X According to him he couldn’t handle the fame that came with ‘Shayo’ came and deliberately made the decision to go off the scene in 2011.

2. Olu Maintain – Yahooze Yes! He released other songs after Yahooze, but they just couldn’t compete in the stiff limelight with other music productions. Yahooze was the only hit Olu ever produced after his signing to Kenny’s music 1 Like 1 Share

3. Jodi – Kuchi Kuchi Singer Jodi released her ballad Kuchi Kuchi a baby-inspired Zouk song at the tail end of 2010. The song which exudes innocence and is extremely melodic in its delivery and style was described as soulful, artsy and simply African by many music critics. After that nothing was heard of from Jodi anymore

5. W4 – Kontrol When W4 released this song in 2010, virtually everybody slept on it, and it was the biggest song in the country enjoying massive airplay during that period partly because of the national fuel crisis as at that time. He has released other songs but they haven’t been as catchy as Kontrol

6. Jazzman Olofin – Raise D Roof Everybody’s favourite song as at that time. Jazzman came and Jazzed the nation with his hit banger ‘Raise D Roof’ but his Jazz couldn’t work for him with his other songs. Raise D Roof still remains his hit song till date.

7. Kelly Handsome – Too Much Money It’s been over seven years since the “Too Much Money” was released by Kelly in his album, ‘Too Much Money’. The song enjoyed airplay nationally but it seems Kelly’s maga wasn’t enough to pay as his other songs just couldn’t make the top 15.

8. Marvelous Benji – New Dance The ‘Swoor’ king of the early 2000, Marvelous almost gave Daddy Shoki a run for his money after releasing his hit ‘New Dance’, but unfortunately that was to be the only hit to be heard from him.

10. Mad Melon and Mountain Black – Danfo Driver Who can’t recall Danfo driver? That song is still a classical hit as far as Danfo drivers are concerned. Unfortunately, the duo who once ruled the Galala airwaves just couldn’t keep up with other fast rising singers.

11. Djinee – Ego We can’t ever forget DJinee and his hit single, “Ego’ that was played at most weddings and proposals. Although Djinee released other hits, his Ego still continued to overshadow them all.

coolbreezy01:Replace Djinee with Sky B. If you actually agree he had many other hits, then he doesn't deserve to be on your list, in the same way that 2face had many hits and yet African Queen overshadows them all. Sky B's only hit was "Am Calling" but it seems nobody has picked his call since then |

haryomikun:Yo I propelled this thread on facts. Firstly no other of their release had more airplay as the aforementioned. Secondly they are one hit wonders which automatically states that those were the music that made them popular and no other of their music had such toll on them. |

coolbreezy01:For the fact that other of their release had not enjoyed more airplay does not in any way make them a one hit wonder. How could you refer Danfo Drivers, Olu Maintain and Kelly Handsome as one hit wonder? SmH |

Danfo driver- kpolongo was a hit. I can't believe someone will say he didn't get to hear that track. Even till date if you play that track, e still carry weight. I even started liking Djinee after that overkilling track. |
