The Joint Action Coalition of Civil Society in Nigeria led by its National Coordinator Mr. Isaac Ikpa held this year's National Convention on Wednesday 30th - Friday 2nd December, 2016 at Duban Hotel Ikeja, Lagos Nigeria.
The Convention brought its new national coordinator elect, Barr. Emmanuel Ogalegwu. The Joint Action Coalition of Civil Society in Nigeria was formed in the late 70ths, it is the largest palm African movement, it's purpose has been believed that they can be no ldeological revolution without a conscious society.


The Coalition of Civil Society in Nigeria was aimed at drawing a uniform and collective consciousness cutting across all blogs of societal formations, with the sole purpose of revamping these sectors towards achieving a robust economy.
After passing a vote of confidence on the fight against corruption, the national coordinator elect, Barr. Emmanuel Ogalegwu advised on an encompassing fight against corruption, with emphases on Agriculture, ICT, and Vocational Education as alternatives to unemployment.


The Chief Gani Fawehinmi (SAN) memorial award was instituted to encourage highly spirited Nigerians, who have immensely contributed to National Development in critical sectors. The contribution of Professor Benjamin C. Ozumba to education especially Medicine at this time of rapid decay in the educational sector has set him far ahead among his contemporaries as education is not complete without quality.


Professor Benjamin C. Ozumba who is currently serving as the Vice Chancellor (VC) at the University of Nigeria Nsukka emerged the winner out of 18 nominees from the 6 Geopolitical Zones across the country at the grand finally in Lagos with 63 votes, following with Chief Femi Otedola with 46 votes. The award is tentatively slated to be presented to him on Thursday 15th December, 2016 at the University of Nigeria Nsukka, Enugu Nigeria.
