Salam I am Muhammad Toyib by name. I had a discussion with one of my friends last week. He claimed "Toyib" is one of the names of Allah so I'll have to change my name to abdul-toyib. I asked him to bring evidence which he did today by showing me a book where Toyib is written as one of the name of Allah. I have 2 questions which are: (1) Is Toyib really a name of Allah and will I have to change my name? (2) is it true that the common 99 names of Allah is gotten from a da'if hadith. please I need answer with proofs. jazakumllahu khairan |

there is nothing wrong with that. tayib literally means good, so if someone calls you Good its okay but it becomes a problem when you add 'AL' as a prefix, Al-Tayib will mean The good which is an attribute of Allah. Abdul tayib is also okay, it means servant of Allah The Good Allahu a'alamu 1 Like |
