If you can ask your father/mother about their 1983-1985 hunger experiences you won't dare come online to celebrate nonsensical nonsense. And, believe me when this jungle you are clamouring for or celebrating in advance matures, hunger will reset your brain without your consent.

Do us a favour & ask your parents how they queued up then to buy salt, sugar etc or how people lose their goods if you sell above the fixed price of Buhari/Idiagbon.

Another military force approach. DSS continue to arrest Bureau De change operators, naira value keep falling. Allow forces of demand and supply to dictate price biko
This is strictly for the agric sector, it helps maintain prices which is good for planning and also ensures quality

This is a no no, let the market forces determine prices.

Government isn't responsible for pricing, it is draconian, and won't work in this 21st century.
Provide the infrastructure and enabling environment and let everyone key into it.

Don't bring Venezuela here.

So funny how some people just come on here to spread hatred, i have been to some developed countries and i can say almost everything i bought got Maximum retail price on them, so no one can cheat you by inflating his own price, some stores even sell below the MRP. This is a welcome idea cuz it will definitely help.

Old man now here's the thing....do u que to pay for goods at supermarkets?
Do u que to board airplanes? trains?
Do u que to enter embassies?
Do u que/fill a form & wait for the FD Nurse to call your name at hospitals?
Do u que at banking halls/atms?
Do u que / file into class after assembly in schools
Do u que to pay offering / tithes in church?
Do u que/arrange rows to pray at mosques?

Anyway lemme stop there and ask u (if you a pedestrian n based in lag) which do u prefer: queuing to board BRT or struggling to enter danfo during rush hour ?

It's only in this country people demonise queuing up, I'll like the various NLANDERS to correct me if I'm wrong, what aspect of american, German, chinese life isn't 'regulated' by govt?

Oga if only gmb tenure wasn't interrupted by now 1987 kids wouldn't be the animals they r now.

Mr Audu Ogbeh, what Nigerian Farmers need most is Agric Extension officers, recruit them as much as 10, 000 to educate farmers, recruit Agric Engineers in each state to service agric machines, tractors, they can rent to plough, plant and harvest their crops, and lets see plantations every where like cote d'Ivoire. Oil is really making us not to think, lets leave it for the owners, the Niher Deltans.

Yea you're right, the situation then was that some marketers are exploiting the masses due to scarce imported essential goods. The government then set up the boards to control price, a basic economic practice. At this point in time, I believe it should be to bring down inflation and should be for limited time. You will agree with me Nigeria profess to be a capitalist nation with little or no local production. Do you you traders do buy 14 bunches of plantain from farmers at N1000 - 1500, then offers to sell to consumers @N2000-2500/bunch!!
Re: FG Considers Setting Up Commodity Pricing Board By 2017 by HAH: 9:12am On Dec 09, 2016
Commodity pricing will only create black market for food.

This will further aggravate hunger in the land

Instead of Audu Ogbeh to think of how to subsidized agriculture for farmers he is thinking of regulating price for commodity they have no input in producing.

If a lot are encouraged to go into farming and there is bumper harvest price will be driven down by market forces

All the people praising this have little or no knowledge of economics. You can't force people to sell goods at a price they don't want to sell at. This is how "black markets" are created.

This government would never learn.

Rubbish! then they'll tell you they need to employ 1000000 monitoring agency members to ensure pricing is strictly adhered to.

Produce more, cut out bureaucracy and see price slide down the hill like jill came tumbling after..
