Being a programmer requires more than just coding. A lot of folks seem not to understand these, and it’s one of the very major reasons most “programmers” are not productive.
The ingredient that makes a productive professional programmer can concisely be grouped into three;
1. Skills
2. Tools
3. Motivation

Skills

CODING is just one of the skills programmers are to acquire; other skills like COMMUNICATION, COLLABORATION AND PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS are as much important as coding and cannot be over emphasized in today’s competitive world.

Tools

Having the right tool for the job is as critical as anything else, don’t try to be clever or prove a genius by using a notepad for development, even most advanced text editor are just good for code editing. GET SOME PROFESSIONAL IDE.

Motivation

Motivation is what makes us focus and dedicated. Find what motivates you.
