I see where you are going with your suggestions but they are not very practical as you cannot legislate on stuff like that. Already, most NPFL clubs already get an average of 5,000 match day attendants and clubs like Pillars, Rangers and Enyimba had upwards of 15,000 to 20,000 in many home games last season. It is the prerogative of the clubs to market their brand and not the regulators to make demands of such.

e.g. is the BPL last season where Leicester with 20k to 30k matchday tickets won the league above clubs like Manchester United with 76,000+ matchday fans.

I get u bro. but atleast the organizers should direct that all participating teams have at one or more corporate sponsor to improve corporate visibility. if u get what i mean

This country sports is so backwards, we still dey on top pre-season when other leagues have played around 15 games into a new season.

NPFL will never see any development so far it's still in the hands of the government.
Receive sense In Jesus Name!

So must Nigeria have the same season schedule as the Europeans. Even the American league (MLS) and South American Leagues have a different schedule also. Pls think before typing.
Thanks.

Oga, check very well. All country's leagues must not start at the same time. Even Uefa's top 5 leagues, comes withing 2wks interval.

Countries such as Sweden, Norway, Azerbaijan and a few other leagues are now in their pre-season tour too.

For instance again, when some other top leagues go on christmas break, the epl stil continues.

They're in the CAF Champions league and might be drawn against North African teams.
The weather in Spain right now is akin to that.

tchaik:
I am not trying to hate, buh; is Spain not too cold at this time of the year?
With the NPFL starting in January (and you know how high the temperature will be), is that a nice strategy? Train in the cold weather to compete in a hot temperature. I am not understanding.
I sha wish them well.

I do agree that participating clubs need a whole lot of corporate partnerships. The LMC has done a lot in the last 4 seasons to aid the clubs in this regard.

My only point of order to you is that the LMC may not have the authority to legislate on participating clubs' business model. There is an example in the La Liga where FC Barcelona deliberately had no shirt sponsor for over 100yrs while the likes of the Madrid clubs had hundred million euros deals in place.

What the LMC can do is to continue to put in place structures that will make the league viable and profitable enough to attract wealthy private/institutional investors willing to buy top clubs off the current government owners. This is already bearing fruit with the IfeanyiUbah FC, MFM FC projects and hopefully more to come. Then this more ambitious owners can better manage the clubs and turn them into real money making business entities. Maybe when the league is profitable enough, Alhaji Dangote's Arsenal ambitions can be derailed for a bit to Kano Pillars which to me, can be a billion naira club if better run.

LMC is doing such a good job and I really can't wait for next season to start so I can hang about Agege stadium for a few of MFM's home games.
