The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has acted in national interest on the issue of data price increase, the Senate Committee on Communications has said.

Sen Solomon Olamilekan (Lagos West) who spoke on behalf of the committee members, said the NCC had taken some commendable steps to sanitize the telecom industry and the data price hike was one of them.

Senate okays data price hike. Our lawmakers aren't just selfish, they are WICKED. Their aim is to make life miserable for us. Laughing at data hike, you guys really thought the Senate had your interest. Nigerians, your Senate has sold out. They have okayed data price hike saying that NCC acted in national interest. We braced for fuel, electric, food, transport and aviation hike. The next hike should be minimum wage not data hike.

Waiting to hear good news from National assembly is like waiting for the day you become ten years younger than you are now. We all saw it coming, in fact, the outcry only gave the committee members opportunity to collect their own share of the bribe.
