WHAT IS MASTURBATION?

Masturbation is the stimulation of one’s genitals or other parts of the body with one’s hands for sexual pleasure.

Today, we live in the world in which sin has been modernized. Sin has become a normal thing. People are empowered by the laws of the country to commit sin The Bible is not silent on this issue – the issue of masturbation. Notwithstanding the fact that the word “masturbation” did not appear in the Bible, God’s word has clearly shown us the actions that lead to masturbation, Anything that cannot pass the test and scrutiny of God’s word, has failed to glorify God in our lives. Instances of the actions that lead to masturbation abound in the Bible. Can those actions glorify God in our lives?

But, what does the Bible say concerning Masturbation?

Well, the Bible did not really mention masturbation, or say whether or not masturbation is a sin.

It’s true that the word “masturbation” did not appear in the Bible. However, the actions that lead to masturbation were adequately stated in the Bible.


In this brief teaching, we shall be looking at the actions that lead to masturbation, the negative side effects of masturbation, the spiritual consequences and how to deal with these actions.

Let me show you what some have pointed out to be masturbation in the Bible, which I think is not. Let us open our Bibles to Genesis 38:9-10. It says, And Judah said unto Onan, Go in unto thy brother's wife, and marry her, and raise up seed to thy brother. And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother's wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother.
