I was in the 10th physicians oath taking sponsio academica of the University of Uyo just last week thursday where the vice chancellor, a professor of law made a statement that there are only three professions in the whole wide world.
He further went on to give instances of a Lawyer having a chamber of his own to practice (legal practitioner), a Medical Doctor having his own hospital to practise (medical practitioner) and the Theologian who can preach the gospel in his church (Pastor).
Having said this, He now stated that a Profession is distinguished from occupation and trade whereby all others fall in as the professionals are the elites, noble personalities and the highly skilled/knowledgeable in the society in that they take pain, dedication and time to have attained such an enviable height in life.
He now crowned it all that of the three distinguished & honourable professions in the world ; Medicine and surgery was there, Theology was there and One other which he refused to mention but which to him was conspicuous enough for people to comprehend as audiences were murmuring Engineering, Law, Architecture, Nursing, Pharmacy etc.
That said, Now I will like the house to contribute on this very important aspect of life's career choices in order to clear the air about such grading as to ascertain the top shots and figure out the top notch career with respect to the aforementioned.
