Did Jesus Really Exist?..historicity Vs Mysticity Of The Existence Of Jesus by KennyMcZiems: 8:26pm On Dec 26, 2016
What proofs abound that Jesus existed?...it remains a theological embarassment till date that few scholars have even attempted to prove the existence of the Christ.
Popular opinion agree he existed albeit with little or no-proof. Proofs of his historical life show divergent accounts only agreeing on two almost universal tales of his crucifixion and baptism.....this is a clarion call to those in the know...Join me in this quest to prove that Jesus Christ really existed......KennyMcZiems

There are more than ten extra-biblical references to the person of Jesus Christ.
Of which 4 of them are verified.

There is no embarrassment whatsoever.
There is more evidence that Jesus existed more than even Caesar of the ancient Roman empire.

Peace.

Scholars have refuted the usual proof most christian theists and apologetic present and which I think you are also presenting the "testimonium flavinum".Josephus (a Jew). And Tacitus( a roman) are two independent sources usually cited but it has been proven time again that they are both fraudulent additions/ alterations by the catholic church..Josephus's account was added by st.eusebio of caesera...Tacitus was just a copy cat. below are links. Pls do refute these claims. http://www.truthbeknown.com/josephus.htm

Acharya Is not a scholar. She "was an American internet personality and a proponent of the Christ myth theory.[7] She wrote and operated a website focused on history, religion and spirituality, and astro-theology. She argued that the Christian canon, as well as its important figures, were based on Roman, Greek, Egyptian, and other myths.[8] Her theories have been poorly received by mainstream scholars."

It wasn't acharya who refuted those claims. Funny how u chose just her reference. Almost every known scholar refutes the testimonium flavinum that reference is only made to it as. A fallacy. What cogent proofs do we still have about the. Existence of Jesus asides these two proofs by Josephus and Tacitus

The link u gave was an article written by her, I was just pointing out that she's not a reliable source, the Christ Conspiracy is proof of this.

This is misleading, most scholars believe their was an interpolation but most agree that there is a broad consensus to what Josephus originally wrote :

"The general scholarly view is that while the Testimonium Flavianum is most likely not authentic in its entirety, it is broadly agreed upon that it originally consisted of an authentic nucleus, which was then subject to Christian expansion/alteration. Although the exact nature and extent of the Christian redaction remains unclear, there is broad consensus as to what the original text of the Testimonium by Josephus would have looked like."

"The general scholarly view is that while the Testimonium Flavianum is most likely not authentic in its entirety, it originally consisted of an authentic nucleus with a reference to the execution of Jesus by Pilate which was then subject to interpolation. James Dunn states that there is "broad consensus" among scholars regarding the nature of an authentic reference to Jesus in the Testimonium and what the passage would look like without the interpolations."

Most scholars believe that it look originally like this :

"At this time there appeared Jesus, a wise man. For he was a doer of startling deeds, a teacher of people who received the truth with pleasure. And he gained a following both among many Jews and among many of Greek origin. And when Pilate, because of an accusation made by the leading men among us, condemned him to the cross, those who had loved him previously did not cease to do so. And up until this very day the tribe of Christians (named after him) has not died out (Ant. 18.63-64)" - Biblical Scholar James Dunn

And Tacitus reference is also considered by most scholars to be authentic:

"Scholars generally consider Tacitus' reference to the execution of Jesus by Pontius Pilate to be both authentic, and of historical value as an independent Roman source.Eddy and Boyd state that it is now "firmly established" that Tacitus provides a non-Christian confirmation of the crucifixion of Jesus."
