Globacom, national telecommunications operator, has called on Nigerians to keep hope alive and redouble their efforts for a better year in 2017.
In a New Year message released, the company said it was hopeful that 2017 would be significant in the country’s pursuit of improved economic outlook and general wellbeing of Nigerians.
Globacom noted that Nigerians were a gifted and resilient people and urged them to draw on the “can-do” Nigerian spirit, faith and inventiveness to overcome the effects of the economic recession witnessed in 2016 and ensure a return to a prosperous condition in 2017.
The data grandmasters expressed the belief that the new year offers a fresh opportunity for the country to begin its journey to economic recovery and encouraged Nigerians to continue to support government efforts through patriotism, sacrifice, perseverance, unity and resilience.
It stated that government was working assiduously to revive the economy, and that measures put in place to tackle the challenges were already beginning to pay off. If this is complemented by good faith on the part of the citizens, the company said, the economy would improve in the new year.
“Being alive to witness the birth of a new year is a germane reason for gratitude. It imbues humanity with a resurgence to grapple with existentialist challenges as well as igniting new streams of energies to face what the new year offers. A vast majority of Nigerians are optimistic that government would take the country to greater heights this new year,” Globacom observed.
Globacom reaffirmed its commitment to the provision of world class voice, data and Short Messaging Service (SMS) during and after the New Year holiday, and encouraged Nigerians yet to subscribe to the Glo 4G LTE service to do so in order to experience the new speed of life.
