Consider switching to computer science CS, you could get the best of maths, statistic and EE while in computer science. In CS, try not only to make the grades, in addition, acquire and be proficient in skills; e,g programing, you could diversify into other areas such as telecom, quantitative finance and systems simulation. Try not to graduate as just another CS graduate with 2-1 or first class, but one with skills and certifications which no one can take away from you (its better to start acquiring the skills early). It will really help and distinguish you when you would be looking for a job anywhere in the globe. You would have a wide area where you can work. Physics is too narrow, my thought.

I am talking from experience.

@Poster. What exactly have you always had in mind to become? That will help you to be able to chart your course in life.

If you have found something consistently difficult, my advice is that you switch to an area where you know your strength lies.

With a very good result in either Statistics or Mathematics, you can work almost in any establishment, more especially statistics.

You will have to be very creative and dynamic to do well as a Computer Scientist because, the school will not really offer you what you need in the job market and the course may always stand you on your toes as you may need to keep doing certifications now and then to be relevant.

EE has its bedrock more in Physics but involves a lot of Mathematics too. I will not advice anyone that is not a little above average or someone that cannot retain for long what he/she reads and also ready to work a little hard to do the course(EE).

Finally, i will advise that you a stay a little longer in Physics and see if you can better your performance in the subject(A good grade in Physics too can be lucrative at the end of the day). If after that, you still find the subject a hard one for you, you can change to Statistics(my opinion's best option).

Finally Finally, commit your ways into the hands of God and He will establish you thoughts.

It might be very difficult at your stage to understand that the opportunities in Nigeria are hardly related to what one studied. All you need at the end of the day is a good grade 2:1 at the least, and a brave heart to market yourself.
Having said that, I find it difficult to relate the fact that you excel in maths but suck in physics, cause those two areas have a lot in common, including methodology. If you are good in maths, their is every likelihood you will excel in physics if you work around the psychological block that I suspect is making you suck in it. How? the fact that you are good in maths means you are good and have all the thinking skills to excel in physics, believe that and work at it!
Now about making choices, it will be pretty unbalanced to use physics as the basis to make a choice btw Elect. Elect and Physics, cause every Engineering course has a good dose of physics. Infact in UNN, Physics undergrads and all Engr(Civil, Mech, Electr, Agric) undergrads study exactly same course for the first two years. They start specializing in third year.
Now what should you base your choice on? Strength, Opportunities, Remuneration, Interest. In that order, your interest should be the least important, but important all the same.
Strength, -----You can do maths, but you recline in physics, both Physics and EE require the two skills.
Opportunities ----- Physics, like any other course is profitable, but those courses with Engr. term, give you some exclusivity to the two best paying professional sectors in Nigeria(the oil industry and IT), Physics does grant you some access to those areas, but may not allow you grow easily into a more specialized professional as you progress, Engr. does.
Also in terms of opportunities, you have been offered admission to study Physics, if you do not have admission to study EE, will you stay home and do nothing but wait? --here Physics wins.
Remuneration, in Nigeria, the sky is your limit. Nigerian economy manufactures and develops nothing, we only do services, trading and management, in fact technical jobs pay you the least except if you are sure to be in the oil industry. So a lot depends on the future opportunities you get, believe God for the best in both ways.
Interest: Except you are really passionate about one of the courses, you should have no problem with this. Any body who likes stuff about electricity and electrons should easily find something to love in physics, vice-versa.
Overall, take up the opportunity given to you in Physics, try to make a very good GPA to allow you switch to EE in your second or third year. Mind you it is usually quite competitive cause chances are few. If you do not get to change, finish your physics and live your life cheerful, earning a good cash.

@Poster
it depends on where you want to look for job and what you want to do.
I live in the UK and am an IT professional.I studied Computer science while in school.I can tell you that Mathematics/Statistics beats all these other courses other posters have mentioned in terms of financial rewards. With Mathematics you could go into Acturial sciences or investment banking or even become CFA(Chatered Financial analyst). These careers are way more rewarding than whatever you want to be doing in oil companies.I understand that in Nigeria, the gold mine is Oil company or telecoms. If you can afford to think big and you really want to make crazy money with ur skills.I advise you to study mathematics.Even with physics you can study and sit for CFA or acturial qualifications. The money they make is crazy.I can assure you.But if you want to think like the average Nigerian ,then study and hope you get a job in an oil company or telecom.

^^^
r u saying he is not going to be able achieve the same with a science degree in the UK?
sorry to bust your bubbles major IB's, big consultancy firms et al are always looking for graduates from highly numerate courses (Engineering, physics etc) so it's better you study that and have the sky being your limit in terms of career destination rather than being restricted to the career's the above poster highlighted.

Electrical electronic engineering.
You can either specialise in communications, robotics, control or power.

Hi, Being a physics graduate even open u up to opportunity after school in case you change ur mind. I was in ur situation 6yrs ago and I opted for physics. Presently I w ork as a software developer I am not teaching and am working on my Msc in Telecommunication even with a physics degree. I can go into Nanotechnology later if I like but an electrical engineer can't . If you ask me I will say stick with physics

Computer Science & Statistics are both great. You just need to ensure that you get some professional certifications to help you stay on top of your 'game' smiley

what are you most passionate for? ask yourself that!! i myself am confused on what i want to major in, but i at least realized that i am going to to do what i am passionate for because ill enjoy doing it. Studying something for convinience or because it pays more will make you unhappy. smiley
