Thanksgiving Service After U-17 World Cup In The Church? by wagbaje: 12:57pm On Nov 22, 2009 |
Sani Emmanuel, FIFA U-17 MVP, the winner of Golden Ball and Silver Shoe came to a church service at The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations, to give thanks for what God has done in him. Like a son, coming back to his father’s house, this is how we can describe what happened today with Emmanuel. He has grown up from nobody to somebody, known all over the world by the help of the pastor in that church, Prophet TB Joshua. In his speech, he mentioned that though he did not win the cup (the Golden Shoe), he believes that God has something to say – God is still saying something. He even mentioned that he was undeserving of this award as the best player in the world as he was holding up his Golden Ball and Silver Shoe. He even said in his speech that he was once a needy. And, that was why he wanted to dedicate his awards to all the needy and promised to establish an NGO for the less-privileged to give scholarships to those who deserve with every proper means as he was found and integrated by TB Joshua. He said that he wanted to have a meeting with the youth to encourage them that there is hope – Jesus is the hope. He ended his speech with a wonderful line, “Better is not good enough; the best is yet to come!” On the same occasion, Onazi Ogenyi, the midplayer, Number 4 also gave his speech in front of the congregation at The Synagogue Church Of All Natinos, which is full of people from all over the world who thought so that both stars would be coming to the church today. In order to celebrate this, two cakes were placed on the table. One cake was meant for the stars, Emmanuel and Onazi and the other one is for the nation, Nigeria. |

The service was really fantastic. There was quite a good number of high points, some touching and emotional. thank God for the lives of the members of the team, and the coach. |
