Please I don't know why GTbank charges me like 300to 600 naira on a monthly basis for alerts. My friend said his bank charges him as low as 12naira every month. Not fair. See the alert I just received. I've gone to the bank the customer care said I get charged for incoming funds how is this possible

when i saw 440 debit alert for text messages, i went back to my phone and count the number of alerts i get from november till date, not up to 7, im visiting their office to complain tmr because on a normal day 440 will send 110 messages conveniently 1 Like |

GTB debited me for SMS alert of 1,436 for one month. l was shocked to see the message, when I transfer money from my account to others they deduct #125, when I inquire for my account balance they deduct #10. why are they still deducting SMS alert again.This is so bad. Our money is no longer safe in banks these days because they are looking for every opportunity to debit us. Am done with GTB anyway. |

Why should you still subscribe for SMS alerts when you have an internet enabled phone to access Nairaland? I've been using email alerts for almost 5 years now and GTB has never charged me a dime. 1 Like |

Worst of all they'll still charge you for this alert showing your charges for alert. I noticed the excessive charges and cancelled text alerts. It was pointless considering I could receive email alerts for free. |

It's really annoying. The worse thing is that they will be even charging heavily for card maintenance (ATM), card that is in my hand o. |
