THEjoy of residents of Magboro
and Arepo communities in the Obafemi Owode Local Governmnet Area of Ogun State knew no bounds last week, as Province 2 of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. RCCG, dedicated a multi-million naira health care facility for the use of the community.
Dedicating the hospital, Still-Waters Hospital, wife of the church’s General Overseer, Pastor (Mrs.) Folu Adeboye
advised members of the community and their leaders to protect the 11-bed hospital, work in peace, love and harmony.
According to her, the facility has been built for the use of the community without bias for religion or tribe, saying: “Whatever God does, He does it for all. We must not allow religious discrimination; we must not say this was done by
Christians. We must live in love and provide adequate security to the facility and protect it from vandalism.”
Pastor-in-Charge of RCCG Region 19, Pastor Brown Oyitso while admonishing residents of the area, on ‘Christian Social Responsibility’, said the provision of the health facility was the church’s adherence to the commandment of Jesus Christ that Christians should
show forth a lifestyle of compassion and love wherever they are.
Oyitso said the gesture also forms part of the core mandate given to all Provinces by the General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye who had tasked the church to impact positively on the society, especially the immediate environment.
“It is good to do good. Government of the day cannot
do it all and that is why our father in the Lord, Pastor Adeboye instructed us to do good works by impacting the community we establish our churches positively,” he said.
The Pastor-in-charge of the Province, Pastor Yemi Lebi explained that the land for the project was donated to the community by former Ogun State Governor Olusegun Osoba, but the community was unable
to equip the health centre built thereon until the church noticed the building during an evangelistic outreach and stepped in to salvage the situation.
Lebi said the province took over and upgraded the health centre to an ultra modern one, fully stocked with drugs, with state-of-the-art medical equipment, including ultra-sound scan facilities and an x-ray machine
with various medical personnel on ground to minister to the patients.
In his words: ”It is not for profit, will be high-ly subsidised and patients will pay only a token to access health-care at Stillwaters Hospital,” he said, add-ing that this was only one of the church’s many CSR projects.
Responding, Magbo-ro/Arepo community development committee chairman, Mr.
Ayo-deji Kuku appreciated the church for successfully upgrading the health centre to a modern hospital for good health service delivery to the community.
