That's impressive. The pictures show the triumph of the human spirit... Frozen in time and space.

The Trinidadian descendants of pre-1900 Yoruba folks taken on slave schooners such as the Spanish schooner Manuelita still live on. Manuelita left Lagos Island with over 500 people and headed for Cuba in 1833. Manuelita was intercepted and captured by an anti-slavery Naval Squadron and they landed in Cuba. Some of the Yorubas on board were then taken from Cuba to Trinidad and Tobago for resettlement.
