You are testing using a server hosted by MTN. You wouldn't get a real feel of the speed cos it's like pinging your local server. Try again using a server not hosted by them.

Mine is only 16.50Mbps. That’s not much. It’s disappointing, actually. Airtel runs at 25.80Mbps; a true 4G experience. I can’t wait for them to implement 5G.

5G speed test in my area, even though there is technically no 5G deployment in my area yet. I only get one bar and i have to hang my 5G router on my window to get the one bar.

I'm yet to get a 5G signal in Abuja on my S21+. I've been in several areas that are supposed to have coverage and my phone's 5G bands should cover.

This is a known issue by the MTN network support team, and they are actively working with Samsung to resolve the issue around some Samsung devices (those meant for the African market are the affected ones) not receiving 5G signal. If you buy an S21 plus from the US or UK, you can already be getting MTN 5G on it. Notwithstanding, issues of some Samsung and Apple devices not receiving MTN 5G will be resolved very soon.
