Football has gone to the dogs

Mikel no dey speak or hear Chinese Language; how will he be able to communicate and pass out instructions to the other players and the referee?

Believe you me, those yellow guys speak better english than us but will never show it, so english would be the mode of communication.

It's all taken care of, that's part of the project. Basic language for football should be easy

Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi, has been handed the Number 10 jersey and captain band at his new Chinese club, Tianjin Teda by coach, Jaime Pacheco.
The former Chelsea midfielder scored his first goal in the 36th minute for the club in his team’s 6-2 loss to St. Pauli over the weekend. Congrats to him!

Baba, Chelsea did the best for this guy ooo! He's not an English player but spent 10years in mixed forms. Do you think Man Utd, Arsenal or any big Club will keep him this long #RationalityCalls

Such is life, a one eyed man will always be the king of the blind. Mikel that after he had a permanet seat on the bench for so long, chelsea were forced not to include him in match day squad for fear of destroying the bench alloted to him, nw he is a captain, God is truly Great.

Most lovers of the Super Eagles realize how valuable Mikel is to the national team, it is mostly Chelsea fans who underestimate his importance.

John Mikel Obi possessed the happy knack of saving his very best performances for when it mattered most. His big-game ability was never more evident than in May 2012 when Chelsea lifted the Champions League for the first time in its history. His outstanding display in the final against Bayern Munich was a key factor in Chelsea's success that year, and he produced similarly titanic performances in many European and domestic cup finals and semi-finals during his 10-and-a-half seasons at the Bridge.

"It's very good playing alongside Obi, a top holding midfield player. He's one of those players that will not make headlines, but he's happy to go unrecognised in his work and he has a huge worth for the team when he plays."
~ Frank Lampard on Mikel, January 2014

Despite the presence in Chelsea's squad of arguably the greatest defensive midfielder of all time, Claude Makelele, Mikel still made over 40 appearances in his first season, and he more or less maintained that level of consistency when it came to playing time throughout his Chelsea career.

Under the stewardship of Guus Hiddink, Mikel continued to flourish, most notably in the Nou Camp, where Chelsea kept a clean sheet in the first leg of its Champions League semi-final with Barcelona, and at Wembley, where his calm touch was a major contribution to the 2009 FA Cup win over Everton.

"He is a genius in his position. It is a miracle if he loses the ball."
~ Jose Mourinho, April 2007

In total, Mikel made 372 appearances for the club - the 17th-highest figure of anyone in its history - and won 10 major honours. He leaves with the respect and appreciation of those who managed him, played alongside him and watched him during his decade-long stay at Stamford Bridge.

Salute to a football general who is content with staying under the radar. Here is to an amazing career in China!

Football like all other sports has it's own unspoken language that players, coaches and officials of the beautiful game understand. If I may ask, do all foreigners playing in the EPL speak English before joining their clubs?
