Bots are the future. Over the past few months we have seen many apps and major names like Facebook and Skype adapting bots. The latest name to set foot into the world of bots is Google. So far, the only Google Bot that was popular was that of the Google Assistant. Today, Google has introduced their latest innovation for the Google Allo app, in form of Lucky. It is Allo’s first bot other than the Google Assistant. Lucky is a Google Allo Bot that helps you find GIFs.

This Google Allo Bot can be accessed in a chat in the same way as you would invoke the Assistant. By tagging it at @Lucky, followed by a search phrase. Lucky derives its name from ‘I’m feeling Lucky’, a phrase that has been popularized by Google over the years.

The way Lucky, the Google Allo Bot functions is quite similar to how one would use a /GIPHY command on slack, or Google’s Keyboard GIF search. Lucky is fun to use, and allows the users to find the perfect GIFs for every occasion. This Google Allo bot, while being pretty basic, gives us a first glimpse at Google’s long term plan of introducing more such bots in the days to follow. Bots are being used in devices like Amazon Echo and Google Home, and are soon expected to become a mass-adapted technology.
