People holding so-called green cards, making them legal permanent U.S. residents, are included in President Donald Trump's executive action temporarily barring people from seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the United States, a Department of Homeland security spokeswoman said on Saturday.

"It will bar green card holders," Gillian Christensen, acting Department of Homeland Security spokeswoman, said in an email.

Trump signed an executive order yesterday which bans newcomers from Iran, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen from entering the US. The ban has now been extended to green card holders who travel out of the USA.

Thank goodness he did not include Nigeria in the list of countries affected.

He signed it this week saying some countries which do not require inteview to enter us will now need interview or visa application and it affects EU nationals

The relevant section of the Executive Order signed today reportedly said:
“The Secretary of State shall immediately suspend the Visa Interview Waiver Program and ensure compliance with section 222 of the INA (Immigration and Nationality Act),
