Has the constituted authority paid the salaries owed for eight months?
Has the mannerless daughter stopped spraying dollars meant for workers' salaries?
The VC should direct his pleas to the constituted authority and his daughter.

[s]Well, the lecturers want a salary increase....and the funding is not enough to guarantee that...especially as it is coming from the states, not the Federal Government.

So, the VC has to increase school fees so that they can get more money to pay the lecturers their new improved salaries...and provide new equipment of course.[/s]

Before anyone quotes me to blast me....consider that running universities is a very expensive prospect. You have to pay for the university to work. And right now...fees less than N50000 ($100) or even 150000 ($300) are not enough to keep a university running well. All those nice universities abroad have fees as high as $20000 and above. And many Nigerians who go there pay the fees without complaint.
They don't want a raise, no one said anything about a raise. They just want their outstanding salaries. You know, the one govt owes them.

And the one govt cannot pay because funds are scarce.

Still stand by my post though. University is an expensive proposition

Worst of all is that you hardly hear him talk about it, at least Mr Constituted Authority that is not owing up to half that is showing effort.

360 million wage bill per month! And some ppl would start accusing churches of making profit from universities. That wage bill alone minus other expenses multiplied by 12 months is 1 billion naira more than the collective tuition fees for Covenant university in a year . The reality is that the school would have to partly fund itself through igr and a little tuition increase capable enough to give a counterpart funding of at least 45% or else the school won't survive. Also, Osun should leave this university for Oyo since it already has another university it needs to fund. Trying to run two universities would certainly weigh much on the state governments revenue. The university GC or Senate should also cut out some departments for the next 100 level and fully fund its technological courses which it was founded, they should do the little they can with what they have.

You people should sustain the strike until all the money is paid. The state has money this is why they can steal and hide in sockaway or bury. The governors steals the money to send their children to school abroad, buy houses, jets while the civil servants and lecturer's children are at home becos they cant pay their children's school fees or buy books becos the governors have stolen the monies. Ajimobi is tired of playing god and out of shame has sent VC to go and beg, you people should collect your money in full. Awon ole governors, haertless ritualist leaders.

The management called the striking unions to resume without due consultation with all concerned. Now the LAUTECH model has failed thanks to th VC.

Well done VC Lautech. Your children too will make it in life. As for dat Osun state Gov., what he wished those students is what will be his own children portion. Those students will have d brightest future & reverse will be for Aregbe's offspring & his siblings too by d grace of God. Ika eniyan, alailaanu , yet to pay his own part of money over #5 billion just imagine.
