But we are the ones encroaching into their space, most times they avoid Humans but we keep reducing their habitat thereby increasing the probability of an encounter with them.
Yes human life comes first, but it shouldn't be a pretext for us to wipe off this animals from the face of the earth.

Hippos are territorial animals. These humans live and survive in the riverine. Something has to give

In same climes, there is usually a national conservation area where animals are kept.

People just killed the poor thing and decimated the meat. The hippos won't just attack people unless it feels people are encroaching into their personal territory.

We still have a long way to go in this country of savages!

I know, but is anything wrong if we enact laws to protect endangered animals and make some sanctuaries and safe zone for this animals inother to limit human influence and most importantly, enact laws that criminize killing of these animals.

Events like this can't be ruled out in d nation where recession is biting hard, there is hunger in the land,no security to life of humans not to talk of animal.

Now that the endangered species of the white hippos has been killed due to the fact that the animal was terrorising the community.who is to blame?

Had it been the hungry animal has been protected, the animal will not wandered into human territory. Where is the animal conservation rule and agency responsible for wildlife animals?

When the animal made an attempt on human life, which emergency unit do they contact?

My take is this,I don't blame the people for choosing to kiĺled the aniimal has their last resort but much kudos would have been given to them if the animal had been trapped alive and handed over to the authority concerned.

Many unborn generation would have seen the animal and some will make their living from keeping the animal in the zoo.

This is a case study to affirm to hypocrites that no arm of the government is working.

Terrorising? Oh...how smart. Take the Nigerian press' word. "Terrorising" is ambiguous. No deaths reported , but its "terrorising" them. A woman probably went to the river and saw it an created a big fuss. Terrorise ke? Did anyone investigate the events that led to the killing of an endangered species. Terrorising my arse.
