You have to come to terms with the fact that people and circumstances will from time to time say hurtful things to you, whether or not it is intentional. But you have to understand that the degree to how much you will be hurt by it is totally up to you.

This is a powerful truth. It really isn't what is said or who said it; it is all dependent on your emotional, mental and spiritual depth.

Have you realized that no matter what is said to you on a very good day will have a totally different effect on you as it would if it were to be a lousy and difficult day? Do you realize your reaction will be based on your current mood or better still your spiritual understanding? It is really anchored by your emotional and/or spiritual maturity.

However you really shouldn't rely on your emotions. Emotions can be misleading for most of the time. You will need self control to put your emotions under control; only a spirit with great understanding and depth will be able to do so.

Here is another thing, you will also get hurt by some one you lean on, someone you have placed on a pedestal. It is wrong to lean on people or place them on a pedestal. Don't misunderstand me, you should love people and trust the ones close to you but don't put your trust in them. You realize the difference? You should trust in man but you shouldn't put your trust in them. You shouldn't fall like a pack of cards when there are not there. This also is founded by a lack of spiritual understanding.

The key to overcoming being hurt by others or situations is to love unconditionally. When you love a person without placing a responsibility on them or expecting anything from them in return, you won't be hurt by their actions. Emotions might rise depending on the gravity of the assault but you could tame it if you have come to love that person unconditionally.

Unconditional love is not something you do with will power. The human will is incapable of compelling one to give love without reservations, only the spirit can; not just any kind of spirit, but a regenerated spirit(recreated spirit)- spirit filled with God; spirit recreated by God through His Son Jesus Christ.

This kind of love goes beyond human comprehension. This unconditional love is God giving Himself to man because God is Love. This Love is eternal and can be given to all who BELIEVE in Jesus Christ from the heart, who believe that Jesus died for them and their imperfections on the cross. With this kind of Love(love in it's pure and original form), you can overlook whatever disappointment and hurt that comes your way from other people.

When you're pained, how does it hurt? It's all about Life and Life is Discernment and Understanding.
Just learn to cope.

That's right. We are stronger than we think - He's strength is made perfect in our weakness
