His name was Yahya Abdul-Aziz Jemus Junkung Jammeh he was born may 25 1965 he grew up to be a strong and bold army,in 1984 he joined the gambian army with a strong will he serve is country so well that four years later he was giving the post of a Second Lieutenant in 1989, he kept impressing 3 years later he became commanding officer of the Military Police of Yundum Barracks,He has grown on to be a strong soldier he was feared and also respected due to his quick rise to top position,he has already have it in mind that one day he would ruled his great nation gambia..despite him been strong he taught taught was not enough he went to senegal to received extensive military training, with that he became more stronger after being trained by the strong force of senegal.

After all this success in the millitary he decide to take over the gorverment form the then president of gambia mr Dawda Jawara through is military force,he has sworn to fight with is last breath,so he garthed hundreds of young officers with strong will,On 22 July 1994, Lt. Yahya Jammeh with a group of young officers in the Gambian National Army seized power from mr Dawda Jawara, most intrestinly mr mr Dawda Jawara did not fight back he leave it all for the young and strong willed yahya jammeh to take,The military coup take place without a single blood shed, He yahya jammeh became the president through military intervention

In the year 1996 he did something because there would be an election that might get him out of office, so the great jammeh decide to create a political party himself and name it Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction,the party he created start to fucntion that same year going on to win the presidential election in 1996.

He was enjoying his time as the president of gambia in 1999 he married a 21 year old Zeinab Suma Jammeh , together they gave birth to 2 kids and life goes on

Yahaya jammeh grow more in terms of evil he ordered the death of 12 student beacuse they where protesting all he want every body to do his to fear him after that he fears only two people his mum and ALLAH,After then he win another presidential election in 2001 and so he continue ruling.. He was growing more in terms of evil he feared nobody he orders killing of people that are not with him..he make life so hard for the gambians

Due to his hard rules the press both local,and international start criticising him he was highly enranged by this so he ordered the killing of The Point tabloid editor Deyda Hydara who had been mildly critical of the Jammeh regime, was brutally gunned down by Alhagie Martin, one of Jammeh’s closest military aides in 2004,he later ordered the arrest of journalist Ebrima Manneh the of The Daily Observer because he republish a BBC report criticising Jammeh. which was also killed , Jammeh told the press “OBEY MY GOVERMENT OR GO TO HELL” hmmm life goes on

In 2006 a coup of military officer including the Army chief of staff Col. Ndure Cham plot to take over the goverment from yahaya jammeh after he traveled to Mauritania ,after hearing this from his travel he quickly come back to protect his post

Mr ndure cham the chief of army staff ran out of the country to protect him self from the wrath of yahaya jammeh after the plot was thwarted on 21 March 2006 due to the return of the president while other alleged conspirators were arrested,and were put on trial for treason, In April 2007, ten former officers accused of involvement were convicted and given prison sentences; four of them were sentenced to life in prison.

Jammeh ran for a third term in the presidential election held on 22 September 2006; the election was initially planned for October but was moved forward because of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. He was re-elected with 67.3% of the vote and was declared the winner of the election; the opposition candidate Ousainou Darboe finished second.

In 2007 Jammeh became so powerfull to the extence he claim that he can cure HIV/AID and asthma to the extence he banned all hiv/aids not to use their usual drugs that he has found the cure, a lot of people died because they obeyed his rules and trusted him,

In 2008 he set law againt homosexual he vows to cut the head of any gay or lesbian found in his own country he label homosexual has the most dangerous thing on earth he said it us better he have hiv and aids than be an homosexualist..

The gambian president enjoy on and on until 2016..

Somewhere in gambia some people are planning to remove the president from its post they are combination of 7 political parties
On 30 October 2016, Barrow was formally chosen by a coalition of seven opposition parties as their endorsed candidate for the 2016 Gambian presidential election. this moved jammeh both vows to the country that he would become the president of zambia again...
