The Treasury Client Solutions Department is a client facing transaction, structuring, and execution team that provides IFC’s clients with innovative treasury solutions, with a focus on derivative solutions, structured products, and debt capital markets initiatives. The team takes pride in contributing to innovative, first-time transactions in many emerging markets providing solutions to IFC’s clients.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in an area of strategic priority for IFC, to deepen and expand experience in financial engineering and exposure to a wide range of local debt capital markets, cross-currency derivatives markets and structured products across emerging markets in Africa, Europe, Middle East, and Central Asia

Note: If the selected candidate is a current Bank Group staff member with a Regular or Open-Ended appointment, s/he will retain his/her Regular or Open-Ended appointment. All others will be offered a 3 year term appointment.

Duties and Accountabilities:

Develop, structure and execute transactions involving structured products, derivatives, bonds and other capital market instruments in emerging markets in the region;

Develop innovative and appropriate financial structures for complex transactions;

Lead the preparation and execution of IFC’s local currency bond issuances;

Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at a senior level, including international investment banks, local banks, capital market firms, investors, and regulators;

Design and implement business development strategy in the region;

Provide training and knowledge management to internal colleagues and external clients;

Lead negotiation/documentation teams; use strong negotiation skills to develop solutions and overcome impasses in straightforward and complex transactions;

Lead and manage project teams, mentor and develop other staff.

Selection Criteria:

Master’s degree in Finance or related area. Strong background in engineering or a quantitative field would be desirable.

At least 8 years of relevant transaction experience in financial markets, in one or more of the following areas: fixed income/derivatives/ structured finance/debt capital markets within an investment bank, rating agency, or other capital markets related institution;

Excellent conceptual understanding and EM structuring experience of fixed income instruments including derivatives and structured credit products;

Strong business development, structuring and client relationship skills and track record for EM transactions;

Strong analytical skills and sound business judgment in identifying potential business leads. Proven ability to effectively provide solutions to clients’ needs;

Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Additional language skills will be a plus;

Ability to interact directly and independently with senior management of potential clients, of financial and technical partners as well as senior government officials;

Good knowledge of information platforms such as Bloomberg or Reuters;

Ability to mentor junior staff;

Highly motivated and committed to highest ethical standards;

Genuine commitment to sustainable development;

Willingness to travel;
