ItsTheBachelor: 'Few' emphasises on the insufficiency of a number, figure, quantity etc while 'a few' is almost the exact opposite ie it emphasises on the sufficiency of the number, figure etc. Same applies to 'little' and 'a little'. Eg I have few books, so I can't lend u some. (Meaning insufficient) I have a few books, so I can lend u some. (Meaning sufficient) One is almost the opposite of the other. |
