Maintaining an Olympic village is far from Nigeria that cannot maintain a public toilet. hosting an Olympic means building assets for all sports including the ones the host country are not into, so its easy to abandon them after the games.

I am beginning to think that there is actually something that should be tagged as the 'curse of the Olympics'. The most recent unfortunate incidence of the Rio event is nothing compared to what happened to Greece after they hosted the world at Athens in 2004. It is arguably one of the main reasons that beautiful country got into a terrible economic recession.
