IS IT POSSIBLE FOR SOMEONE TO WITHDRAW YOUR MONEY FROM AN ATM EVEN WHEN YOUR CARD OS WITH YOU?

Yes, it is possible, if your ATM card is cloned

WHAT IS CLONING?

Cloning is an illegal reproduction of your ATM card

HOW IS IT POSSIBLE TO CLONE MY ATM?

It possible through infotheft, by stealing through;
SKIMMING- Here skimmers by research use, pinhole camera that is bluetooth enabled, which are fixed at your ATM selected parts, like the light bar, brochure holder, mirror and speakers on the face of the ATM

NECKING- Crafty criminal peep and long neck when you push buttons, and swiftly cram your passwords.

BANKERS- Criminal bank officials can sell your ATM details to scammers or connive with them to produce a dummy card with which they withdraw your cash. This is best done through an organised crime.

PROXY WITHDRAWAL- "Trusted" personalities that are usually sent to get money from ATM, unbehalf of the owners. can steal and sell information to criminals.

FAMILY AND FRIENDS- Your family/friends can make a deliberate efforts to get your ATM detail and send to cloners.

LOSS AND ROBBERY- If you lose you ATM through misplacement or forceful collection by criminals, your ATM might be cloned.

SPOT HELPERS-At times someone offers to help you out of ATM usage challenges, with seemingly good intensions; such people may scam you right there.

HACKERS-Black Hat hackers can get your ATM details by hacking your banks' networks or database....

CARD SNAPPERS- this group of persons are seen at every ATM points and all they do is to smartly snap your ATM if carelessly held with their phone camera and forthwith watch your finger pushes to guess your pin/password.

WHAT CAN I THEN DO?
1. At good and secured intervals say, 3 months, change your ATM password
2. Keep your ATM card away from commoners
3. Guide the sight seeing of your password when using ATM
4. Avoid using ATM in the night.
5. Check the surface of the ATM whether there is any strange attachment on the button Pads or other surfaces
6. Report card seizure by ATM machine immediately and don't rush to leave the environment, at times the machine itself eject the card in a short while
7. Keep all your ATM transaction in a special book and cross check with monthly bank statement
8. Only use trusted hands in case of proxy withdrawals
9. Change your default password immediately your bank official gives you
10. Never disclose your ATM details to anyone including your bank official.
11. For "spot helper", make sure you check and confirm it is your ATM card that you were given, after such "help"
12. Avoid saving your ATM details in your emails, text file or other places in your phone, except where well encrypted.
13. Don't leave your ATM card in the card, pursenpr other places where family, friends and acquitances can see it.
14. Report your lost or stolen ATM to police and your bank immediately.
15. Keep your ATM card in your pocket until you reach the machine point. Smart scammers usually snap ATM that are carelessly held.
16. If getting to the bank immediately would give challenges, make attempts to transfer your cash electronically to a secured account.
