I have always wanted to work in the
bank, seeing those beautiful and
handsome bankers walking about in
the banking hall with their high
heels and shoes making a "ko ko
ko" noise we make you fall in love
with the banking profession. I
always believe they were rich and
their income must be in 6 figures
and above, you see some of them in
their cars and you will be like these
are the People " chopping" our
money. You hear their spoken
english especially the female ones
and you just come with these
thought "she didn't school here in
Nigeria." you will see them typing
on the computer and you will think
they are writing to Trump.
These thought made me seek
placement with a Bank during my
Industrial Training, this was where I
learnt the truth about the reality was far from the dream I thought
was real. I took my IT letter to the
bank for placement, I was so elated
when they said they will employ me,
my brain was already doing some
rough calculations, my brain told me
they would pay me nothing less
than N100,000,I was already
planning how I was going to start
forming "big boy" in my street,
when the Human Resources Officer
hit me with an hammer" we will pay
you an allowance of N30,000 " My
heart miss a beat, did he just say
N30,000, I looked on confused as I
signed some document to validate
my placement.
The next day at work made me
know the real deal, I was placed
under a staff, I worked even above
my pay, it was then I knew behind
those smiles of Bankers lies pain and
insecurity of job, I realized if N5
naira should get missing, it would
be deducted from their salary, I
learnt that most with cars took loan,
I learnt after every work day you
have to reconcile your account, If it
does not balance, just start crying. I
saw the pain beneath those fine suit
and ties and I ran away after one
month in the bank to find a better
placement.
The only people that enjoy the
banking sector are the top level
management, aside them, others
are working hard for little pay.

Working so hard with little pay isn't peculiar to banks. It is everywhere.

Top management get paid well for not doing much.

That's everywhere.

Because bankers see money everyday doesn't make them rich.

Most of them na Plastic Lifesstyle
