As a bachelor that works 8 hours a day, it might be difficult to feed yourself every day because of your working hours and getting home you might be very tired. I know some of us guys just get home and go to bed, while others just eat anything we see. First of all, this system is very bad for our health and it would definitely lead into a breakdown and you might not be able to work as well as you would normally do.

So the best trick for you is the easiest, go for easy meals, ready-made meals, things you can whip up in few minutes. The only problem with these easy meals is that they have a lot of calories and too much of it in your body would also be unhealthy but a simple solution is to mix it up with a healthy diet.

The secret to having all you need to eat for the week is by buying everything you need and cooking it during the weekend when you are free. You might think, cooking and buying grocery might take all your time during the weekend but it would not take long especially if you order online and get it same day, all that’s left would be cooking.

Here is a list of easy to whip up food mixed with a healthy diet for a working bachelor.

Beans and Rice: Boil a bunch of beans and rice separately and together if you like, so all you have to do is heat up at night then eat.
Bread/Buns: Buy wheat bread maybe two or three as much as you can eat, freeze it up at home , then put out a few minutes before you are ready to eat, so it would come back to a normal and consumable temperature before you eat. You can also toast or heat it up for a few seconds if you cannot wait.
Canned Soup: There are varieties of canned soup out there, chicken soup, shrimp and so on, what you get depends on your taste. The purpose of canned soup is for easy cooking, all you need to do is open it and pour in a bowl then microwave or heat it up however you like. You can use it to eat whatever you like, rice, bread, pasta and so on. You can even get creative with it, maybe try with eba or whatever comes to mind.
Pasta/Spaghetti: All you have to do with pasta is boil enough during the weekend, keep it in the freezer and microwave the portion you want to eat during the week when you get back from work. The trick with pasta is you have to boil just the pasta, don’t mix with anything only mix with whatever you want when you are ready to eat.
Frozen Foods: You need to get a lot of frozen foods and keep in your freezer, frozen foods like, frozen pizza, chicken, fish and so on. If you have a lot of frozen foods at home, it would be easy for you to think of something to whip up. For example, you only need to heat up a frozen pizza to eat it and chicken and beef would be needed for days that you need to add protein to your diet.
Vegetables: You also need to cook a variety of vegetables like efo riro and make sure to eat at least twice or once a week, this would help you flush your system and keep you healthy.
Fruits and Salads: You might not like this idea but with all the canned soups, pasta and frozen foods you would be taking, you need at least a bowl of salad or a bowl of fruits in a day to balance your diet and keep you healthy.
Water: As a bachelor, it is easy for you to forget to store your house with drinking water and store it with alcohol. Instead, always try to mix them up and water should be more than alcohol for healthy living. Also drinking a lot of water also helps to let go easily in the toilet, if you know what I mean.

This list is not perfect and it might not be cheap at the beginning or by the looks of it but it helps you save more because most times when you don’t have food at home you end up buying outside which becomes expensive if you do it often plus this system keeps you from sleeping on an empty stomach and it keeps you healthy.
