Don't know the starting salary

But because DENTISTRY is a highly specialised field, it's very lucrative.

I extracted an impacted wisdom and a molar, just 2 teeth for 95000 last week.

Thank God i didn't have to remove it in the US, I learnt it would have cost over 300,000Naira

Goodluck with the smelly teeth, blood and crying adults. Fortune / comforts await in dentistry.

You would just have to eventually build up a private practice as any other Dr. to rake in the big bucks
So u stand on ur point that studying and practising dentistry in Nigeria is worth it. I thought that private dental clinics in Nigeria don't make it. Some people said it before but i thought they were lying.

DrSuleiman100:
Some are saying Nigerians don't take care of their teeth, so dentists don't make money.....in fact, this is why dentists make more and more money. For example, when a tooth that's supposed to be filled or removed is left untreated, this is the type that usually progresses to dentoalveolar abscess or even Ludwig angina which is life threatening. And this requires a lot of more invasive procedures to treat plus or minus neck dissection which the patient have to pay for handsomely and in folds. In short, complications of minor dental cases cost more and more money....and that is the case in Nigeria.
Did u mean that maxillofacial surgeons in Nigeria do neck dissection? I thought it's done by an ENT surgeon. Have u witnessed it being done before by an oral surgeon or u were just lying?

The residency training of an oral & maxillofacial surgeon covers rotation in ENT. That would make him/her able to do a neck dissection

Besides, dentistry covers medical and surgical treatment of diseases of the oral, craniofacial and neck regions.

Salaries remain an important focal point across both public and private sectors in Nigeria. The survey also found out that the salary increases with the years of experience in the field. While an entry-level doctor earns an average of #170,000, an average middle-level medical doctor earns an average of #270,000. To get more information about dentists, visit us dentist in jaipur.
