I've read through the views, comments, and opinions of many who feel that BBNaija shouldn't be aired because according to them, it promotes immoral values, and encourages promiscuity and sexual perversion in our society.
Well I'm not here to argue whether they are right or not because everyone is entitled to their opinions and like we all know, every opinion is relative and subjective. Rather I'm writing to elucidate on the investment opportunities in reality shows like big brother Naija.
You see, shows like these are the most criticised, but the flip side of the story is that they're the most viewed programme in television industry.
Someone is awake watching to see if Tboss will allow Kemen to have sex with her, someone will always wake up to check up on Bisola and TTT, and someone is always listening to Efe to know when he says something that will be used against him.
So while it may seem immoral, it's a great content because it keeps millions of viewers closer to their television... What that means is that it passed a content test.
Now if multichoice could produce a content that attracts as much as ten million viewership across African continent on a daily basis, it's a perfect platform to advertise any product or service and gain the attention of the world to your services.
Now that's a win win situation for the content providers and entrepreneurs.
Big brother Naija is not a church programme or organisation or crusade, it's actually a mind game where the viewers decides who is emotionally, psychologically, and mentally mature to win the prize. You may criticise the mode of voting or the attitude of the housemates but it's a game both for the contestants and the viewers.
Again this is also a business opportunity for multichoice because it will boost the decoder sales, increase traffic on their website and social media platforms, and strengthen their brand amongst other competitors if any.
Funny enough there are families that will never forgive multichoice if they don't air a reality show like big brother Naija.

So writing from an entrepreneur's point of view and someone who looks out for business opportunities, big brother Naija is actually a big deal in content broadcasting.
You may not like it but that's perhaps your opinion and it doesn't hurt the account balance of multichoice in any way.
