When anesthesia was first developed,it was for many years withheld because women are to suffer. One of the few society to stand against that views was the Huichol tribe in Mexico, these tribe believed the pain must be shared between the father and the mother,so a string that has needle will be tied to the husband testicles ,for every painful contractions and stuffs the mother would give the string a hard pull so the man could share the burden through that sharp needle.
If such principles were more widespread injuries in childbirth would garner more attention .
