JAMB UTME 2017: All You Need To Know by Nobody: 4:02pm On Mar 09, 2017
As prospective candidates of the Joint Admission And Matriculation Board Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination 2017 otherwise known as the JAMB UTME 2017 is yet to commence, candidates are eager to get information as to what the JAMB UTME 2017 examination process would entail.

Because information is what we stand for, we have gathered all the information that prospective candidates for the JAMB UTME 2017 examinations need to know.

Last year’s JAMB UTME examinations had about 1.5 million candidates and this year Jamb expects between 1.7million to 2 million candidates to register for the JAMB UTME 2017.

Due to the above mentioned figures, JAMB UTME 2017 examination centres are expected to have hall(s) with 250 functional desktop or laptop computer systems with 25 as backups. Computers must have a minimum of 15 inches screens and must be connected to robust servers with the capacity to carry a minimum of 250 systems concurrently.

Due to space constraints, prospective candidates for the JAMB UTME 2017 are advised to register as soon as the registration commences to ensure they are not transferred to other states for their examinations.

JAMB has also assured all prospective candidates that the JAMB UTME 2017 examinations in all centres would not last more than seven days.
According to Jamb Registrar, all approved examination centres for the JAMB UTME 2017 are equipped with examination computers and CCTV cameras to track down any form of examination malpractices within and outside the halls.

The JAMB UTME 2017 would be a complete Computer-Based Test (CBT). Prospective candidates are advised to spend time in studying and preparing adequately for the examination rather than look for avenues to cheat, as any form of cheating would be discovered and would lead to canceling such a candidate’s result.

Meanwhile for those who have no idea of what a Computer-Based Test (CBT) feels like, mock UTME would be conducted, as it will help them have a feel of what the main examination will look like.

If the government enforces the bill passed into law on October 13, 2016, the result candidates get from this year’s JAMB UTME will be valid for three years and not one year as it has always been in previous years.

Ahead of the JAMB UTME 2017, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has agreed on a harmonized timetable with other examination bodies in the country to have a hitch free examination. The bodies agreed that for the purpose of the 2017 UTME, JAMB will shift its examinations forward to allow students write WAEC, NECO and NABTEB examinations.

Contrary to the insinuation that candidates awaiting results were disqualified from registering for the JAMB UTME 2017, JAMB spokesman, Dr. Fabian Benjamin has cleared the air and made it known that such candidates can register for the UTME, adding that they must also ensure that their results are ready and uploaded on JAMB and institution’s website before admission.
