The Tortoise according to history has been in the Ogbomosho palace since about 5-10 kings reign. So you can understand the logic of getting the age. say each king lived 30 years each and the Tortoise survived all of them, then you can determine the age of the Tortoise. Hope this clarifies

i really missed Ogbomoso. i did my NYSC there and it was one of my best experience serving there. very peaceful and loving people, and life there is so easy because things are cheap. i love Yoruba people especially their girls... so respectful and well cultured.

This tortoise wey them no know him age, 2004/2005 when I been visit the palace them say na about 350, 12 years later na 331

I remember the story of this animal. Its named 'Agba' It was once documented by Punch Newspaper some years back.

According to history, this animal was brought to the palace by Soun Ogunmola when he was returning from war.

According to Punch Newspaper, it was said that d animal can finish 25kg of water at a stretch, it feeds on human cooked foods and moves freely in the palace. It nods to greetings by people in palace.

But I think it was reported that the animal was 270years old according to research ( Scientists collects the fossil from the shell for analysis)

But I don't know how the Op got that age... Nawa o
