WCBD an acroynm of WECANBEDIFFERENT is an online community that seeks to offer more to its users than other contemporary social media. The phrase ‘WE CAN BE DIFFERENT’ originally “I CAN BE DIFFERENT” evoked from a personal slogan of a struggling man; a means to inspire self now an idea that powers WCBD.

WCBD’s vision is an online platform where users are offered opportunity to become better, different from the undesirable self they were, in order to actualize this, WCBD social community feature three major services among others.

WCBD Main Features

WCBD Social Community:
An hybrid social community that lets you do more than just meeting people. WCBD social community combines the cool social features on Facebook and Twitter plus a rewarding system.

WCBD Online Study:
The online study portal is to provide educative courses and skill improvement courses that empowers learners to stand out among and/or serves as a means of living. WCBD online study is a type known as social learner allowing learners to interact socially with other learners and course teachers, take course quiz, surveys, assignments and earn recognized certificates.

WCBD Blog:
The blog is meant to provide practical articles that will improve the mental horizon of the readers especially through information on self, relationship with others, self-improvement, health and wellness etc.

WCBD Forum:
The forum sections enables members to engage in intellectual discussions on interesting topics, and also for getting broad views and opinions from others when a member needs help.

WCBD Shop:
The shop is to provide access for users to buy both digital and physical product. Also the Shop gives opportunity for users to spend earned credits

WCBD GAMIFICATION
Being faced with limited resources, WCBD therefore uses gamification to induce user engagement on its platform by offering points, badges and spendable credits reward for user interactions with the platform. The available reward systems are:

Points:
Points are for ranking. Predefined amount of points are issued based on interaction within the community and through completing certain tasks, quests and levels. A user with higher point indicates higher interaction and/or completed several tasks. Points automatically grow and does not decline, except when a user is sanctioned through achievement revoke and/or points deduction.

Badges:
Badges showcase user achievements on profile page and are also point attached. Some Badges are shareable while others are not. Shareable badges are shared through Credly and can be showcased through other means.

Credits:
Credits are for spending. Credit rewards are more inclined users interaction with other users rather than with the platform. A certain amount of credit at anytime does not indicate user rank because it is spendable.

Credly is the universal way to recognize, share and celebrate achievement in any setting. On WCBD, users can showcase their earned achievements and badges on Credly.
