Four people have died and at least 20 others have already been injured following a terror attack in Westminster.

A police officer who had been stabbed at the Houses of Parliament and his attacker are among the dead, according to Metropolitan Police Acting Deputy Commissioner and Head of Counter Terrorism Mark Rowley.



He explained: ‘Sadly I could concur that now four people have died and that included the authorities officer who had been protecting Parliament and one man we believe to be the attacker who had been shot with a police firearms officer.

‘The officer’s family have already been made aware. At the least 20 people have already been injured.’

The attacker, armed with two large knives, mowed down pedestrians with his car on Westminster Bridge, including school children, then rushed at the gates in front of the Houses of Parliament, stabbing a policeman before he was shot by armed officers.
