Earlier today, Brivalix Media received an article submitted by a faithful Nigerian on our site with the heading: No Booklet Nationwide - Immigration Officer Complains.

In this article she complained that she applied for her international passport since February 10th which she paid #30,000 in Delta State Immigration office, and have not been able to collect her passport till date due to lack of booklet nationwide as complained by immigration officer.

She complained of how she spent such a huge some of money to acquire an international passport at this period of time when our dearly beloved country is currently suffering from recession.

According to her, when she asked one of the Immigration Officer on duty when her passport would be ready, she was told that as a result of scarcity of booklet nationwide, he could not guarantee her the availability and readiness of her passport.

It is also to our notice that the immigration office collected #28,000 with some other charges and still delayed some persons from collecting their passports while it is stated on the site of Nigeria Immigration Service (https://portal.immigration.gov.ng/pages/passportguidelines) that with #8750 - #20,000, your passport is made available. The table below gives a full description of the normal fee that should be charged by the Immigration Service as stated on Nigeria Immigration Service website(https://portal.immigration.gov.ng/pages/passportguidelines).

NIS PASSPORT FEE - APPLYING IN NIGERIA (NAIRA)
Booklet Type AGE 0 - 17 AGE 18 - 59 AGE 60+
32 Pages 8,750 15,000 8,750
64 Pages 20,000 20,000 20,000

The Question is why are they not using the website guideline and why there is no booklet in the country ?
