There are some daily tips to be observed on your engine on a daily basis. 1. Always check the engine oil and water level at all times. This is very important though a sound engine would not need water in the radiator for years cos the cooling process is a recycling process. The engine oil level shld as well be checked for avoid over or under gauge. 2. Viscosity shld always be noted. when your engine oil is becoming too sticky den u r loosing ur engine gradually. Don't let it get sticky before replacing. 3. Always observe changes in sound and performance of your vehicle its very important. Observe the light shown on dashboard and don't ignore any light. |

I have a Honda Pilot from Covington, for 3 weeks nows, I haven't been able to drive it, due to the fact that it smokes excessively. My mechanic suggested we change the oil, which they did including the bottomplate. After that the smoking still continued, last week, they said it's the exhaust system, as usual, the loosened it and still nothing. On Saturday I got fed up after test driving the vehicle and took it to another mechanic, who brought out a component exactly as that of the first image you posted, he said that was the cause, as usual requested for money to wash it. Now the issue there is the smoking still continues and I am hearing one sound that is not too friendly, it sounds as those Lister generators (kpock kpock kpock kpock). I am confused, cuz a customer who came to the same workshop says that the engine has knocked. We all know that getting over 400, 000 for that engine is difficult these days, if there is any idea what might have caused or is causing that, could you please advice. N/B: I have never had any issue with the vehicle before, neither have I had dashboard alerts |

Please don't pass the wrong info. The word is called "pinking" not "pinging". Thanks. No offense! |

What vehicle users should note is that the oil recommendation by manufacturers, no matter how good they are, may not help your engine as it gets older. That is why their watranties expires after a year or two. If the oil recommended for your car is SAE 5W30, note that the number '5' is the winter number that determine the physical state of the oil at lower temperature (startup temperature), and the number '30' is the measure of Vi additives in the oil that determines the viscosity and, consequently, the lubricity of the oil. So, as you run the engine the additive materials are degraded according to usage. Therefore, the quality of the SAE 5W30 used usually depreciates to 5w20, it will be lighter, darker, and less viscous. Thus results to higher wear and tear progression in metal components in the engine. So, it is adviceable to progresively use oil with higher Vi additives as your engine grow older. And, I strongly recommend G-revo extreme lubrication technlogy products range, usually available at Automedics workshops Nationwide or call 08033527026. |

blessme2019:I would advice u diagnose it for a solution. All this road side mechanics can be very frustrating. There are different types of smokes. Is it as a result of incomplete combustion or as a result of Engine oil spillage on the piston. The engine can be overhauled if its nt been opened before or u buy an half engine. Buh jst be mindful of who u r giving it to. Road side mechanics can frustrate u. |
