Ghanaians on social media have been congratulating Nancy Abu-Bonsrah, who is said to have become the first black female Neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins University. The Johns Hopkins University is an American private research university in Baltimore, Maryland. Founded in 1876, the university was named for its first benefactor, the American entrepreneur, abolitionist, and philanthropist Johns Hopkins. Some of Nancy’s research papers at the University include the following:

This is why women struggle. We keep celebrating their success as first woman this and that.

Don't get me wrong. I love women.

But when you start doing first this, first that, you only reinforce the idea that it is hard for women to rise.

In my humble opinion, women will have it easier when they stop this practice.

Be a person. Remove the gender tag.
