The text, obtained by AFP, calls on the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) to quickly present its findings on the attack that left at least 58 dead and 170 wounded on Tuesday in Khan Cheikhoun, a small town of The province of Idleb, in the north-west of Syria, in the rebel zone.

The draft was circulated to the fifteen members of the Council on the eve of the emergency meeting requested by Paris and London following the attack.


The United States, France, and the United Kingdom intend to put this resolution to the vote during this session of Wednesday in New York, but the position of Russia remained Tuesday night unknown, diplomats said.

The United States, France, and the United Kingdom presented Tuesday a draft resolution condemning the chemical attack in Syria and calling for a full and prompt investigation on the eve of an emergency meeting of the Security Council of ONU.
