Why The NYSC Should B Scrapped, ASUU& Nigeria Educational Board Shld B Policed by Ade3000yrs(m): 3:00pm On Apr 06, 2017
*Why NYSC Must Be banned, Why Private Universities Must be Banned & Why ASUU & The Nigerian Educational Board Must Be Overhauled or Reviewed*

As An Optimist, A lot of things has been going on for years in Nigeria & the pandemonium continues to soar as the mandate & pursuit to catch up with the rest of the developing worlds in the area of academics and social infrastructures eludes us. Before I go any further, I cant but draw our mind back to history, to the vision and strides once made by our Premiere leaders in the area of education, Sir Abubakar Ahmadu Bello, Sir Tafawa Balewa, Nnamdi Azikiwe, and Sir Obafemi Awolowo, Pa Anthony Enahoro, and the rest; May the Labour of our heroes past shall never be in vain.

Needless to be ambiguous, I must state categorically that the hydra headed monster we call corruption begins in d corridors of our academic institution as a lot of paraphernalia in hope to service quality and better education in our society has become the bane and hub for corruption where it all stemmed from the very start. Among these body is the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), if u know d ordeal of an average Nigerian youth having gone through our schools you will understand the political tauting, imperative psychological drills often forcefully meted on helpless & voiceless students by the school managements and staff, relegation of the student union into obscurity and on the edge of oblivion, politicking & witch hunting which has made the prospective graduands the squeeze, weed and juice beneath the pressure. Heinous act like this results in the surge of civic back lash of university products who later assumes political offices, district and community heads, imperative organizational values and as corrupt officials of questionable character. As if the privates university operating with outrageous fees has paid off ASUU to destabilize and forestall a national faith in our tertiary institutions while the private universities makes a kill leaving off d left off of our treasured federal and states university without a hope of survival and painstakingly begging for attention and restitution.

ASSU for whatever reason is by far different from the struggles and statutory of Student Union so we should expect less impact in the significance it adds to the academic year of the student of the Nigerian Universities. A visit to a list of Federal & state universities structures, hostels & an inquiry into the academic contents of this schools as such UI, UNILAG, UNIBEN, OAU, ABU, UNICAL, UNIZIK, YABATECH, and a host of other revered schools are experiencing a metastasized phase of paralysis with UNILAG & YABATECH going through one of the worst retrogressive phase on my list and from my assessment after conducting a nation wide convincing enquiry due to location and applicants turn up for these 2 schools, they don't only make a kill, but the learning and living conditions are by far nothing near to a Nigerian well meaning brand. The worst is that majority of this school waste student time for no good reason despite the kill of money they juice from students. With a by standing views and opinion, no doubt ASUU is a culprit in this deposition. ASUU has left helpless student at the mercy of this self angradising political body fighting for its sole interest and not of the students per say just to continue to remain in office making fat purse on civil salary while the economy droll and stagnates with tsunami of jobless graduates year in year out. ASUU has not just caused a lot of wasted time and resources on the part of the government and prospective students as believed but has forestalled and frustrated a lot of transformational reforms over the years in the name of its vindictive latching stomach politics and imperative objectives.

Nigerian school system is surely upside down as its supposed to allow student to start making money for themselves before they graduate. If u can't make money and provide jobs for d labour market, undergraduates should not be allowed to graduate. That's why I say our school system is upside down an only a failed institution with too many shadow of dreams. 5 yrs for An Agricultural programme as Such Animal breeding in FUNAAB, Michael Okpara University and Many other Agric school is utterly useless! As 2yrs is enough to get any academic impartation while d 3rd year should b for assessment of what has been learnt & youths capability to make money, who is making money & who is not so dat assistance & needful solution can be proffered. All those undue calculus like & obsolete courses dat bores student & will never add any financial & economic value to student should be phased out. In d name of Education & building human capacity for the industries based on specifications and zombie graduates to just follow orders wtout questions are only a means to futherly impoverished d masses and suck d masses stewed goose joy juiced dry!!

Yrs of 4, 5, 6, & 7yrs of academic school year program should be shrinked down to 3years except for a few whose academic calendar can as well still be calibrated to something of a shorter duration say 4yrs such Architecture & Medicine. I strongly blv dat d quality of Education given will continue to translate d quality of man power output and also result in mass industrial affluence. The Youth services should be absorbed into d Nigerian system and therefore should be scraped as its another monumental failed projects like d Aja okuta steel project, failed & Abandoned Nigerian oil refinery, Internal University Post UTME after JAMB must hv conducted its on exams which is another corrupt practice in Nigeria. The NYSC should be banned as its another big drain for the Federal government which has outlived its shelf life. The insecurity, social norms and economic fractures in Nigeria today no longer support the need to continue to give students false hope of Nigerian Youth Success Confirmed now becomes a junction of Now Your Struggles Continue. Let our school system desist from been another brick in d wall barricading student from d harsh realities of life which pollinates a tsunami of corruption, false hope, marginalization, & pandemic hopelessness & mass industrial retrogression. 3yrs From my point of view is sufficient to understudy a Bachelor's degree program in any Nigerian school every other time extension is a complete projection of incompetency by the Nigerian school Admin staffs, stake holders & d entire Educational board.

A lot of Nigerian Youth Today are in school for nothing else but just in anticipation for NYSC that bask in its vain glory which affords youths the privilege to pose as dumb commando poster face. NYSC has served its time wt the core objective to further cement & uphold our unity and projects d beauty of our cultural diversification but its time now seems over stretched. Graduates need jobs & to be permanently gainfully employed and not the short lived hope & privileges dat NYSC assures. If The circular Nigeria school system must learn from a reference, the let us all go back to National Open University with a global view & pace of Education as it opens it doors and windows to absorb d academical disadvantage that may pose a potential threat to civic values & left off and cut backs of d Nigerian conventional schools which the National Open University Carries with a duty & mandate of affordable education for all. It is for dis reason I suggest d NYSC & d Conventional Nigerian University system should be scrapped, review or overhauled so as to consolidate its objective of Quality Education for all & to improve the quality of life, individual & communal obligations, opinion or judgement. The NYSC for the progressive projection of sovereignty and unity should find hope and redemption in the Nigerian military by allowing the Nigeria military take full ownership of the NYSC for mandatory or voluntary military conscription and also non combatants military short services as little as 3 months to 2 years. This is imminent for a country like Nigeria has this has already become the history of a lot of super power countries that the world admires today and as little as Algeria, Cuba, Turkey, Gulf Countries, Israel, Iran, North and South Korea, Russia and Egypt are not an exception.

Whatever government feels they owe an average Nigerian under graduate or prospective graduands, it should be given within the supposed 3yrs of study so as to help individual student have a clear sight of the future that awaits them. When I see & think of the Nigerian University, I imagine it as a bag of air and puff of dust. That's why only Wole Soyinka is the only Nigerian who has won d Nobel peace price in 1986, Kenya 1, Ghana 1, Egypt 4, Zimbabwe 1, Algeria 2, Liberia 2 and South Africa 10. We Nigerians have a big problem of academic deficiency. The kind of academic revolution seen in France, Germany, Sweden, Norway, USA, Austria, Norway, Luxembourg, Brazil, Cuba, Argentina, Canada, U.K, China, Japan, Spain, Italy, and South Africa still at large remains a dream in Nigeria despite its vast geographical and economical privilege and opportunities.

In addition, I use this medium to plead to the government and concerned persons that the Nigerian private Universities be all scrapped, banned, reviewed or suspended with immediate effect as they take advantage of the incapacitation of the government tertiary institutions & it left offs and vacuum. Also that all tertiary institutions in Nigeria be accorded a common & equal preference without any exemption which is d bane of corruption, Also the Activities of the Nigerian Educational Board & ASUU staffs & members should be monitored and policed closely as the largesse of too many privileges affords some members of this group to play politics with the Acadamic backbone & structure of this country as it is from such forum and organization in any Democratic country Social injustice stems from. Whoever is found wanting should b tried & prosecuted accordingly. I solicit that the quality and access to education, both at the primary, secondary and at the tertiary level should be more detailed and better emphasized compare to what we are used to seeing if at all we are sincere in our fight to kill illiteracy and corruption to its roots.

Education is not necessarily suppose to be a means to amassing bigotry of material possessions and affluence of wealth but particularly a modulation & means needed to making informed judgements to reflect in the greater development of our host community & society. Over the years, Education in Africa and Nigeria in particular, instead of been a bridge for global shared view of ideology, knowledge & info but has become a wall separating people of different social class and cultural backgrounds
I believe in quality education for all without anybody been left behind. I also believe that the Nigerian youth should be seen as an asset and not a liability cos they are the true leaders of tomorrow. As Africans with a lot of peculiar problems, it is not enough to copy and paste all working reforms from the far developing nations and to wait for the falls out of the far away British parliament and the far away USA congress policy before we are twitched to take giants strides to fast track development.

If the rest of the world are crawling, I believe at this hour, Nigeria must be flying with a big sense of Unity and Progress in view. It is for this reason I speak on behalf of myself and the majority of other Nigerian youths that the revered NYSC be scrapped or reviewed, ASUU should be scrapped or reviewed with more pressing thoughts devoted to revive and empower Universities student Union, All private Universities indefinitely scrapped and the Nigerian educational board completely overhauled to checkmate their political power and obscure mind games they subject the youths to like a Gulf Countries, South East Asia and Mediterranean opium boos and Mexican and Colombian crack cocaine that has continue to paralyse the Nigerian Educational system and that has held the economy and mindset structure grounded and to ransome at every phase. Corruption sits right in the heart of our schools, Universities, polytechnics and colleges exchanging hands like the affluence of the businesses of drug lords such as El Chapo Gusman and Pablo Escoba of the drug world. If we must convict and indict people of this demeaning culpable act, it will be shocking to discover that this is a stone and a glass house crime, as the culprits aiding and abating such crimes lurks in every nook and cranny of the Nigerian System both old and young as a result of our school failure to live up to its objectivity. Let's stop the pretence and come out of our cover ups. As it stands that a child miseducated is a child lost,
The Nigerian University has killed and marred more dreams than it has saved. The reason We are not and cannot be rated among the top 500 schools in the world is because of the evil and counter productive motives behind our school.

The Nigerian educational system is to be blamed for every child that turns out to be a criminal, salvages and destitute and also for every misinformed corrupt politicians out there playing the ponds as the crack in the wall as product of our defunct and deficient academic system paves which way for such ills in any civil society to thrive
