Beautiful morning to you all.

I got your requests @holuwajobar and Ajet001

On a norm, I would have told you to exercise patience since you guys (the UI 2017/2018 freshmen) may not resume anytime earlier than late February or March, but I understand you can as well keep busy/whirl away time with getting prepared for the first year works.

For those that would come in for BDS & MBBS, there seems to be no too much work for the first semester of the first year.

You'll take the following courses:

CHE156 - Physical Chemistry 1
PHY102 - Introductory Mechanics and Properties of Matter
PHY103 - Introductory Heat and Thermodynamics
ZOO114 - Principles of Cell Biology and Genetics
ZOO116 - Introductory Invertebrate Zoology
GES107 - Reproductive Health: Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) and Human immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)

Plus Chemistry, Physics and Zoology practicals.

For now, let me tell you the course content for CHE156, then maybe in some months time when you can assure me you are done dealing with EVERYTHING there, we may move on to others.

Topics in CHE156 include:
- Oxidation and Reduction/Electrochemistry
- Reaction Kinectics
- Atoms, Molecules and Intermolecular Forces
- Kinectics Theory
- Thermochemistry, Spontaneous Processes and Equilibria
- Acid, Base and Salts.

I hope this helps.
thanks alot

Weldon doc.

How abt we going for sciences(maths, stats, comp. sci, etc)? Do you have any idea abt what UI have for us in 100level

There are some variations depending on department. For instance, those in BMLS do all the courses I listed above (for BDS and MBBS) plus Mathematics and I think Computer Science/Statistics (not sure though).

Those in Computer Science don't take Chemistry and Zoology. Those in Chemistry will only do one Zoology course and one Physics course but plus Computer Science and Statistics.

So there are variations and I am not sure of what is exactly obtainable in the departments you mentioned.

Well, I have not been to all undergraduate halls of residence, especially the famale halls but the few male halls I have been to are fairly above average to rate.

There are about 3-4 students per room. The rooms are small though. I have been to quite a number of undergraduate halls of residence of federal universities and I'll tell you UI's are relatively better than some of them.

Note: You are charged N14,000 per session for a space in the UG halls.

Thanks guys,

your aggregate from last year's model is 56.00

cutoff for physiology last year was 57.79

thats very close.

However, Other courses which your score is close to include
Human Nutrition (57.16)
Biochemistry (58.66)

you might want to consider COC to the following depts which your aggregate supercedes the cutoff for last year

Botany, Zoology, Veterinary Medicine and Chemistry (all had 50.00 as cutoff)

hope this helps.

last year cut off was 57.79, your aggregate is 56, ui don't Play nice so either you pray for the cut off to come down or apply for coc if it's still going on but I don't see the cut off coming down, a lot of cut off mark might sky rocket this year expecially those for medicine related courses. So act while you still can.

pls note that UI doesnt use catchment area..its Merit and ELDS. Ondo is not under the ELDS.

Last year cutoff for economics was 62.58. U have a close score, but if cutoff marks will increase this year
you might want to consider change of course to
1. Political science (50.00)
2. Sociology (56.37)
3. Psychology (50.00)
please u can cross check the o'level and jamb combination for these courses to see if they sync with that of economics.

All d best bro

The University of Ibadan on Wednesday said a 100 Level female Law student of the institution died on Monday during a show at her hall of residence. A statement signed by the institution’s Director of Public Communications, Olatunji Oladejo, said Miss Effiong Imabong died after she jumped from a dangerous position having displayed signs of restlessness during the show.
